I always wanted one of these, I remember they used to be sold in SA through magazines as a All round versatile vacuum. They back in 1985 cost R 179.00 or $ 17.90 I loved them and have been after one for a long time

The lady I bought it from said after years of working well it had just stopped sucking. MMMM wonder why ?

God, is that a pleated filter? Reminds me of the time someone brought in a small bagless canister and reported the same problem.


That machine vaguely reminds me of the Bissell carpet machines we got over here in the 80's.


I know you will enjoy that machine, considering your "thing" for shop vacs

Yep Scott that was and I use the word was a pleated filter. These actually originated in the states.

Motor looks pretty Good, some slight wear at the trail ends of the com but nothing a lle cm sck can't fix.

I always screw the part needing work to the workbench as this stops it spinning around when I start removing paint, I use the larger grinders as they spin slower than the smaller ones so you can't distort the metal.

The main motor bearing was a bit noisy so It had to go

New FAG bearing , they are expensive but are quality

When replacing vacuum bearings like these its important to get the right type, The 3c is really important. It means they have extra clearance in them for high speed and heat generated by the high speed.

I love the way a moror spins by hand when it has new bearings.

All assembled and ready to go back in, I cleaned the bush out and reoiled it.
