Seeking info on this Eureka Roto-Matic Power Team

My latest vacuum is a Eureka Roto-Matic Power Team. At least, I think that is the name. It has a model number of 1265A, and it is attached to a power nozzle with the model number 1230A.

I opened up the canister to check on the motor, and there is a circular paper card over the cord winder with the date 1988. It looks older from the outside. How long were they manufactured? Both the canister and power nozzle still bear the name "Eureka Williams Company", which by 1988 would have been over 10 years out of date!

I would guess that your 1265A was built in 1973 or 1974, making yours among the very first such Roto-Matic Power Teams. During 1974, Eureka Williams was renamed The Eureka Company after its purchase by Electrolux AB. The 1265 was ranked among the best canisters by Consumer Reports in 1973.


 


This generation of Roto-Matic Power Teams survived through the late 1980s/early 1990s, the very last examples being called "Ironsides." The power nozzle design I see also lasted through the early 1990s, last being used on the low-end Rally canisters.

I can't offer any help with dates, but I want to thank you for posting!
What a trip down memory lane!
That's nearly identical to the one I remember my mom having back in the 70s.
If I recall correctly, that replaced her Hoover Portable.
The only difference is that I'm almost positive the power nozzle on hers had a headlight.
That would be one of the first vacuums that I really used, as opposed to just playing around with.
I believe she had that Eureka up until she got her first Electrolux.

The reason your cord winder is dated 1988 just means it's a replacement cord winder
Like stated above this cleaner was in the very first power team line starting in 1972. There were 3 models. The green canned ham top of the line, this which is mid range and the gold low end. Since this is letter A it's the very first run of these.
