SEBO Felix Suction control problem

Hello,
I've got a Felix that has a bit of a strange suction control.
I've added a video that should explain what I mean.
Do you guys know what could be an issue? It's also fitted with a really short cord.

Sounds like it’s had a refurb at some point and the cable has been shorten and from the issue with the power slider switch at that end which they may of done something to the slider switch which is probably easy to fix! Sounds like the power switch is the wrong way round!

I actually bought the vacuum from a vacuum cleaner shop for £60 that was meant to be refurbished..
Sadly, it was filthy inside and stunk of dog what I found out when I got home cause the cleaner was wrapped in a bag.. Stupid me.
Anyway, I had a look at the switch and completely don't know how to change it.
Even changing the lead doesn't seem to be easy.
