The thread title says it all. This is a useful site that has scans of Christmas catalogs in their entirety. I went here looking for pages that might show the 'new' 1950s 6 wheel Kenmore upright I just won.
But there's a gap from 1948 through 1951, 1953 and 1954, so the quest continues...
None the less I'm posting the 10 vacuum pages here which show and price many of the beloved Kenmore and other brands we adore.

First up Spiegel 1933

Dave, those were so much fun to look at, thanks so much for sharing them!! There were Kenmore vacuums there I had never seen before.

Thank you for posting these. For us "research nuts", this is quite a treasure trove. Did you know that Robert (Fred's partner), has lots of Sears catalogue pages and images? He reproduced some stunning ones in one of our past newsletters.

I did a special report of Sears vacuums many years ago for one of our newsletters. I spent weeks copying microfilm pages at the San Francisco public library. I will dig through what I have, because I think I have some images of that model you are talking about. Unfortunately, the microfilm images were HORRIBLE....the copies were on that nasty electrostatic paper, which made the images even worse....JL

With any sort of luck I may be back in Minneapolis toward the end of November/early December to spend some quality time with Fred & Robert & The Library. Of course I'll be packing my USB scanner, too.

Also, Tom Egeberg had a few Catalog pages on display with his Kenmore 6 wheel upright that I would be begging him to scan for me, when I write to him over the weekend.

With my major interest in 1930 - 1969 vacuums all the Department Store catalogs, not just the Christmas ones, are invaluable. Some model vacuums were only available for a year or two and it certainly dates them reliably. I'd love to have images of all the Bugeyes throughout the 1930s. It is fascinating just how long the Kenmore Torpedo was available with subtle changes. The Commander was just one version, as was the KenKart trolley.

Dave,

The photo in reply #7, I wonder why they have the hose in the blower end of the machine....???

Great scans...Thanks for Sharing. Tom's Kenmores at the convention were simply stunning.

I alway thought Sears had great vacuums and really still do...at least their canister line.
