I picked up for the sum of $5 one of those machines used for distributing and vacuumming up of the Capture Powder sold at Sears.

I think it looks like the Amway CMS...sorta.

Has anyone used one of these? Who really made the machine?

i think

Iona (fantom) made it, unless its a reallllllllly early CMS. I really couldn't tell you unless I saw it, but from what I understand (at least from the Dyson book) it is an IONA.

I have two of those machines-they do work well-I use mine with "Host" dry carpet cleaner.Got one from a yard sale and the other from "joe" the junkman out here-sometimes I get interesting vacuums from him.The one from the yard sale had the owners manual.

I would like to see that! I always found those really early dual cyclone vacuums interesting (none of them were truly great machines, but they've always fascinated me). I had one, but it had a bad motor!

The Drytech was actually designed by James Dyson. It was one of his first dual cyclonic vacuums to hit the shelves. For a Dyson designed product, it has a very aggressive brushroll!
