I would have taken the whole lot! People pay $80+ all day long on eBay for those Hoovers.

I have no idea why, but my Salvation Army does not sell vacuum cleaners. I have not seen one there for about 6 years. I go every other month.

The Eureka would have been very tempting to me. The Hoovers, not so much. But whatever. I have more toys than I can play with right now.

I hate when that s#!t happens!

It's often another reason to buy things when you first see them, if you are truly interested. I once spotted a Kirby Heritage II at a thrift shop on a Sunday afternoon. It needed a little work and I didn't want to pay the price they had marked on it and I knew the following Wednesday was their monthly half-price sale, so I went back and it was still there but it had been stripped of its bag and cord, so there wasn't enough left of it for me to be particularly interested in it, even at half price.

Of course, I've also been on the opposite end of that. I once bought a La-Z-Boy recliner at that same thrift shop and it had a broken handle I asked the manager if it would be alright to take a handle off of another recliner and she said sure as long as the donor chair was priced less than the one I was buying, so I went home, got some allen wrenches and did a little switcharoo. Another time at a different thrift store, I found a nice GE toaster oven that was missing its tray but another in lesser condition had one, so I didn't feel too guilty about taking it to complete the one I was buying.
