Sad about the new PowerForce

I was sad when Bissell unveiled the new Powerforce Bagless. They redesigned it to match the newer CleanViews. They always looked like cheaper versions of the CleanView at the time. I was so fond of the first model. They were excellent vacuums for $50. Everyone I knew had one of these. They were embedded in my childhood. I still have mine from eight years ago. Still works.

I never liked these Bissells the first time around! They sound just as loud as a woodworking router, turning approximately 25,000 rpm.

The Bissell Clean View was horrible. People bought them in droves, and then brought them to me a year later to fix. The foam filters were terrible at filtering, the motors looked like you dipped them in mud and let it dry. Belching dust. The fans got full of dust, and were off-balance. We threw away so many. The first bagless Bissell that actually worked "properly" was the Healthy Home. By properly, I mean the multi-cyclonic filtration system (a copy of Dyson).

What did you gys think of the Veolcity? That one was one of the best vacuums I ever owned. Very powerful. I also think Bissells lineup is getting quite an improvement as the new Pet Hair Eraser is quite a good deep cleaner.

Velocity and Momentum

I have a Bissell Momentum 3910-T that I bought from Target brand new in 2009. As eureka1998 stated, they are great vacuums. The Velocity is probably even a little better than the Momentum, with one more cyclone.

Older Clean Views?

They were constructed slightly better than the new models, but they do leak fine dust badly. A single cyclone, paired with two foam filters yields very high fine dust leakage. Most of the ones I've come across were trashed. The same goes for the Bissell Lift Off. The original Lift Off bagless leaked dust horribly. The latest models aren't as bad now that they have revised the cyclone chamber. The pleated disc filter helped to keep more dust out of the motor area on later models of Powerforce/Clean View.

Older Cleanviews leaking fine dust

I would definitely agree that the filtration of older Cleanviews was not the best. I purchased one of the original Cleanviews used that had been well maintained and the motor runs well. I do remember going to a thrift store and trying one because I was going to buy it and clean it up for a wedding present for someone...needless to say I am surprised the store didn't explode and people within a 5 mile radius were not dead. It was that loud.

If I recall correctly, there were two different types of Velocities. One was a single cyclone model, and one was dual cyclone. The dual cyclone model faired far better, and lasted longer. I'll never forget a Velocity, single cyclone, (kind of a rust color but not quite). I fixed it so many times for this poor woman who just couldn't understand why it didn't work properly. My the third repair (first two were brush issues), the motor's fan was filled with dirt and off balance (screamer) - blew dust out the side (you could see the cloud upon startup). And she looked at me with these 'dumb' eyes and actually asked why she was having so many problems with a 2 year old vacuum. I told her it was at the end of its useful life - then sold her a Riccar. I imagine she still has the Riccar.

I think the single cyclone Velocity was the Momentum

I actually traded a Momentum for a crappy Eureka. It wasn't called the Momentum though. It was called the Power Trak Cyclonic. Was the exact same as a Momentum.

RE: Older Cleanviews leaking fine dust

I purchased an original cleanview yesterday for $30 from an old man selling them on the side of the road. When I took it home and hooked up a bass to it(it came with no bass) I tested it out. It wasn't loud it just sounded weird and dust flew out the side
