Picture number two is a royal standard. The one in the picture is actually mine. There were several versions before that. Welcome to the forum.

Thank you very much Dysonman1 for this information, very useful for me !! I am studying the subject and I still have a lot to learn ...I have a large collection of antique fans from the GE brand (GE pancake) and many antique Edison light bulbs (I want to share with you a very old photo from the early 1920s of a vacuum cleaner dealer in washington DC)

thank you gottahaveahoove! I like the HOOVER brand too, the vacuum cleaners of this brand seem very Robust! I saw it working on Kyle Krichbaum's youtube channel ! it' awesome

Romain!

Welcome Romain, I think you will enjoy this forum sight. The people here, many seasoned collectors, are quite knowledgeable and very generous with advise and info. You posted to the right section with your vintage vacuum queries etc. When you share those pics of the Edison light bulbs, then post those over in the "household" section! Although I don't think "household gets as much traffic as Vintage or Contemporary does so what you can do is mention that you've posted something over there while you're in a thread here just to let more people know!

I just brought a Royal metal upright in from where I had it stored for 24 yrs. I'm glad I made the effort to store it in a air tight container, disassembled with the bag freshly cleaned and folded, it looks great. I've never worked on a Royal so this will be fun to learn.

There are people here that also collect fans so that's there. Also if you ever have questions regarding washing machines or dryers, new or vintage, just pop on over to automaticwasher.com. Sorry went too long on this,so welcome and happy collecting! Billy

hello everyone !I may have found my happiness this morning !there is a royal vacuum listed on ebay but with a very high price ! I don't know its age, it looks in good condition, maybe some parts are missing from the handle the seller claims that it makes a little noise when starting (the motor probably needs a good cleaning) the seller just made me an offer with $ 200 off but only valid for 2 days ! what do you think of all this ? Can you advise me, maybe Tom Gasko who is surely the greatest specialist in old vacuum cleaners in the united states. thank you Romain

I didn’t realize that both your second and your third picture were actually my machines. I was planning on selling this one at this year‘s vacuum cleaner collectors convention in September. It’s only problem is the handle does not separate in the middle. It is hollow and is used to hold the cord that runs to the motor. It also doubles as the cleaning wand while used with the hose. The machine would have to ship in two boxes.

Hello everyone ! I just received in the mail this morning these 2 advertising magazines (royal breezes) on the subject of royal brand appliances in cleveland I realize that they also made hair dryers and electric vibrators.the magazines are dated May and August 1924 -number four and number 1 volume 9 these brochures should be available from dealer and appear very regularly At that time ! @ Tom are you still willing to sell me a vacuum cleaner of this type ? if there is need to make 2 packages for shipping the engine part, electric wire and bag is not a problem for me you can send the engine part first . tell me if you agree and how much is the price of the vacuum cleaner I could go to the bank soon and prepare a money transfer.
Cordially Romain.

You might see if you can find an intermediary to buy it and ship it to you.

Also don't forget you will need a BIG step-down transformer to use that in 230-volt-land.

Oh that is AWESOME! I live not too far from there! I've never seen a Royal with the tag on the front like that, I wonder if there any left in the city...

thank you Hoover300 ! yes it is interesting ,there is 1 royal princess inside the store maybe a mid-range model compared to the purifier model ? I like the royalette hand model 😊

thank you MadMan ! maybe the seller will change his mind if he can't sell his machine! I have a huge 220-110 volt transformer in reserve that I bought a long time ago to run my old (GE pancake) fans

It's also interesting that just 4 years after the Electric Shop picture was taken, the top-of-the-line Purifier became a separate brand, called Electro-Hygiene. Here is a pic of my model 80 Electro-Hygiene, which was my first restoration project and to my knowledge the first model of Electro-Hygiene. The second pic is an ebay pic of the attachment set that would have been sold with it, which I bought last year.
Jeff
