Can any Royal enthusiasts tell me more about the model 606. Particularly Ben?
It states on the spec plate that it is a 606. However, a manufacturer's spec sheet that I have states that there is a 606A/606AZ.
The commercial cleaner 606A has a twill hinged type bag which does not take a paper bag insert.
Commercial cleaner 606-AZ has a zippered outer bag with the"toss out" paper bag insert.
Was the "A" & the "AZ" just a designation on paper or was it actually inscribed on the spec plate?
Now, the 606 looks very much like an 801 with side zippered out bag. The only difference that I see are the front wheels on the 606 are slightly wider. That's it! Are these models close in the production lineup? And, if the 606 is a commercial cleaner, then why does it have only a 2-wire cord? This machine appears to be completely original. But, then again, who knows!
Ben, I will get you the serial number on the 611 that I have. What I need to know is, is the front bearing a sleeve bearing or a ball bearing?
