Give it a whirl you might be pleasantly surprised.
I can see why his marketing tactics get peoples backs up haha but they are a very innovative company and this latest model has come on leaps and bounds. :-)

Give it a whirl you might be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not willing to spend £300+ on "giving it a whirl", especially considering my previous opinions of the company as a whole and of Mr. D. If they're so innovative, why has it taken then 21 years to come up with a half decent vacuum, hmmm?

I can't comment on the Aerus but I've seen videos and it looks an excellent machine. I disagree with the last comment Sebo's are an excellent brand. They are not the most popular commercial brand for nothing. I believe they are used in the Whitehouse. Definitely try the D4 out :-)

Completely disagree about Sebo, I've been using them for years and have 2 in daily use at home. Probably best to go to the store and try them out to see which you prefer. Of course, a lot of the factors will be a matter of personal preference rather than any machine being any better. It's more a case of finding what works for you.

I can absolutely vouch for Sebo reliability though, if that's something you're looking for. The first Sebo I ever got to use was way back in 1998 and it's still in daily use today.

Checked out the Aerus LGP just now. Sweet looking machine. Great airflow and suction. The only negative I could find with it is the plastic telescopic wand.

With a machine otherwise so perfectly engineered, and with a price tag so high (he offered it to me for $1,500 no tax out the door, which was very reasonable), I figured the wand would have been metal.

Anyway, I think I'm going to go with the Riccar Immaculate. It checks all of the boxes.

1. Quality engineering (steel and High-grade aluminum parts, plates, wands, etc.)
2. Great filtration (S-HEPA and Charcoal)
3. Great Airflow (powerful PN)
3. Some of the best tools (big, horsehair, etc.)
4. Digital handle controls (& dirt sensor-though admittedly unnecessary)
5. 6 height settings on PN (more than competitors)
6. Electric turbo brush (sold separately, but available)
7. Good (not superior) warranty
8. Lowest overall cost of ownership

The Sebo came close, only for the disco floor polishing head, making it two machines in 1, but it's manual controls on the PN are where Riccar won out.[this post was last edited: 10/22/2014-15:26]

Before I officially pull the trigger, what are forums thoughts on the Sirena 2? I'm liking that one too all of a sudden.

I also saw that Dan said Sirena would be one of only a few brands he would even sell if he opened a shop again. That sounds like some high praise.

Dan the Sirena

Uses water as a filter it is an amazing machine but not everyone enjoys the clean up .

I think it's very easy to clean up but I'm into vacuums that's what you have to think about .
Dump muddy water rinse out water basin dry and put away no bags ever needed no smells and
dust in your home is virtually gone or at a minimal .

If not the Riccar is the perfect choice youll be happy for many years .

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what a fair deal on a Sirena would be if retail is $899?

I still want to be fair to dealer, but don't want to pay full retail price either. Thanks in advance!

I don't think 899.00 is a bad price for a water filtration vacuum considering what Rainbow has sold for, and Hyla. My worry would be long term reliability on a relatively new model, and availability of parts in the future. I've heard that has a been a problem with Hyla from different vac shop owners. Something to consider, just my two cents worth.

The Riccar Immaculate (also the Simplicity Gusto) brush roller. Extruded aluminum with three rows of REPLACABLE crimped brushes, kind to the rugs but deeps cleans better than any other I've seen. The great thing is I get to sell these everyday to people here in the Factory Outlet Store.

Due to the Weight issue, I would choose a Maytag M1200 (or the Riccar Brilliance R30D) over the heavier Radiance, if you want an upright. The response from the public to the Maytag line is overwhelming. At $699, the M1200 is an awesome cleaning machine.
