Found a Riccar N2200 curbside this morning taking my son to school. It "looks" very nice, but is currently drying out in the shed pending further evaluation since it was caught in the early morning rain.

Looks just like an older Panasonic dressed in red, in fact that's what I thought it was until I put it in the truck.

Nice snag!

One person's trash is literally someone else's treasure. I've made several trash finds--including a Kirby Gsix--that only needed a bag and a belt.

Again !!!!!!!

To spend that much money on something only to discard it!
Even though I'm not 'into that make", I think it's a sin to waste money like that. People have given me 'trash finds', only to find a sticker on it from a local vac shop.
Must be great to have THAT much money.
We work hard for our money................................

Dealer sticker

Yeah, the Filter Queen Majestic I picked up at Goodwill last week for $5 had a local dealer's sticker on the power nozzle. Even though the store put a 'throwaway' price on it, I'm glad the original owner/donor gave a charitable organization the opportunity to benefit from it instead of treating it as landfill fodder.

Very little cleanup on this one so far, still have to get a belt for it in my travels this weekend.

I almost did not see it, only the handle was peeking out of the pile of trash bags. But when I spotted the chrome I knew that at the very least it wasn't just another bissell buried under the bags.

What link (if any) did these have to Panasonic? Panasonic re-branded with a few design tweaks as Riccar or just very similar design? Just curious.

Looks so similar to the Jet Flo I used to have.

The Riccar you have was made more than 20 years ago, before Tacony brought production back to the USA. It was made in Taiwan, and was a 'copy' of the Panasonic design. The good news is, it uses the current Type A Riccar/Simplicity bags and the standard Simplicity/Riccar belts. The brush strips, in fact all the parts, are available for that unit. Tacony still has that same vacuum, in butter yellow, as a CarpetPro commercial upright.

Excellent machine

We had one at the Video Store I managed many moons ago.  Though we had two other vacuums, this was the one all the employees (including myself) would pull out.

1.  It had a longer cord

2.  It was quite

3.  It was powerful

4.  It was easy to do bag and belt changes

Bags were plentiful, and not expensive.  We had a 12,600 sq ft store and this was the primary machines used, though we often asked our owners for a riding vacuum, they felt this vac was sufficient.  I think we paid $329 for it in 1990 from Carl and Jean's Vacuum and Sewing Center that was in the same mall as our store.

Thanks for all the info.

That explains why I thought I had a Jet Flo before I took a better look at it. LOL

Motor does sound very quiet. I'm looking forward to using it as a daily driver for awhile.

I just saw another red one on the curb

on my way to the convent to visit my 88 yr old aunt (nun). I was amazed, as, it looked perfectly fine. I couldn't get to it to rescue if (for someone else). A red, shiny upright, sitting right there by the sidewalk in broad daylight. Someone spent a lot of money..then threw it away.

I've been shopping curbside for close to 20 yrs.

Haven't bought a mower, trimmer, and have found things that make me just shake my head in wonder.

People are strange, that much I've come to realize. LOL

We have a lot of curb shoppers in my neighborhood

If you don't want something, just sit it at the curb, and it will be gone in under five minutes.

I have had a broken ironing board, a screen door, and a rotted out sand box disappear almost before I got back in the house.
