So the rumor is that there is a new Rainbow coming soon. It is public knowledge that Rainbow has trademarked the name SRX. Perhaps we can have some fun and guess what SRX stands for. SRX = sucks rexair? Perhaps we can speculate what might be coming. I certainly hope that they will have a better power nozzle. I haven't been impressed with the power nozzle designs. I can remember the last time I had a demonstration. The salesperson made many health claims, but I've never seen any proof that the Rainbow has any health benefits. Normally when someone makes a health claim, it is regulated by the FDA or some other organization that requires substantial proof in the form clinical trials. Has Rexair ever collected data on customers to show any long term health benefits? The salesperson claimed that Rainbows are the only vacuums that can be used in hospitals, but he didn't realize I work in a hospital, and there have never been Rainbows used in the large pediatric hospital where I worked. I think he actually believed it was the truth. They also claimed that the Rainbow is the only vacuum that can remove all the dirt from a rug. Of course that was another blatant lie. When the demo started, the salesperson said that the machine being demoed was new in the box. However, it was clear that the same machine had been used previously in countless demonstrations.

Do any Rainbow owners convert their machines to run on alternative power nozzles?

Yes there’s a new model coming out soon. It has already been launch Bach in May at some event called the San Diego world trade event. In fact there was another thread on this model but it got deleted the other day (sadly). I’m just waiting for it to become available in the Florida region so I can get my hands on one (it’ll be my first rainbow machine). I just wanna see more pics and more info on it as well as the optional accessories. I’m curious to see if any of them have changed. I wouldn’t count the rainbowmate as a potential change since they just changed it not even 2 years ago. As for the other accessories I hope they got some sort of updating, even if it’s just the packaging.

I am not looking forward to fixing that new machine. Sure, it’s nice to have a steel brush roller with replaceable bristles. The whole 4 Speed motor, And the mechanism that lifts the machine up and down off of the water basin is not something I’m looking forward to repairing.

wait the new brushroll has replacable bristles? I'm curious to if this one has the 4qt water basin and also 14ft hose. I'm also curious to the acoustics of it. Like whats the sound of it on speed 4 compare to what the current e2 back sounds like. In other words is it quieter on speed 4 (which is the highest speed) than what the E2black sounds like on tradional high speed. Also can someone explain to me how the groomer tool works, as well as the timer mode thing and also the other pet tool that was release along the groomer tool. Also does anybody know if the sprayer/rexafoamer will work with this new model?

Seems we have a new anti-Rainbow thread already. Before anyone (other than Rexair people) has seen it they know all about it! Amazing!

Be that as it may, there are some flaws is your post...

1) There is nothing wrong with Rexair's power nozzles. The human eye cannot judge cleaning performance of dirt particles effectively. It takes science to do that. The current nozzles have been tested under the ONLY scientifically rigorous testing regimen available at the CRI's test facilities and found to be very effective. It was awarded a Silver (the second highest) grade for soil removal in 4 passes-one of the very best for a canister machine. It was quieter than Aerus' or Riccar's to boot.

2) There are no regulations (FDA or otherwise) for the making of health claims in the U.S.A. Companies do it all the time from toothpaste makers to humidifiers to cleaning agents.

3) Rexair is certainly not alone in making shaky claims about the cleaners performance or abilities. They all do that whether door-to-door, outlet, or mass market.

I hope we don't allow the Rainbow bashers to cloud our views.

It's curious that you bring up the Carpet and Rug Institute (cRI). Yes, the Rainbow meets the Silver criteria. The Sirena meets the criteria to be gold rated. Most Riccars meet the Gold criteria. With the belt running down the middle of the power nozzle, there is huge dead space. Am I wrong to expect excellence from a vacuum that sells for nearly $3000?

Belt in the middle?

Ralph123, are you referring to the video that was found on Facebook? In my opinion, it's hard to guess what to expect when all we have to look at is an animated video rendering. This could just be what they used for the cut-away image of the power nozzle just for the video production. It could be very different when it's actually available for sale.

Also, I have to wonder exactly how far along they really are in the development process, especially considering that they only filed for the SRX name in February 2019.

I think Rainbow is accomplishing exactly what so man other companies tend to do: generating interest by getting the public whipped into a frenzy and releasing sneak peeks on the internet. I mean, did you see that crowd? They were jumping up an down and screaming like they had the Holy Ghost in them at some "mega-church"! LOL

I'm hoping for the best in their power nozzle design. Regardless, there's still plenty to look forward to with their other improvements. I just hope it's not an anti-climactic vacuum release, like the Avalir was.

I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these things. I’m curious to when it’ll become available in the central Floria area. As for the belt being put on the center of the nozzle, they did that with the E2 Black model. When the E2 Black came out in 2011 they had the belt on the side of the nozzle and within the past few years they changed that to put it on the center of the nozzle. So I’m assuming they decided to keep it on the center of the nozzle. I’m also curious to see what the owners manual will look like, as well as the optional accessories.

Rexair makes only one model at a time. Every single one of the machines in their current main warehouse must be sold before a single new one will be released. That’s just business. There might be thousands of the current one that have to be sold first. Or, for all we know, they might only have two or three left of the current style. I was at the rainbow world conference when they debuted the E-series. We had to sell all of the D4 performance edition models before the salesman could get their hands on the new model.

Well hopefully they don’t have many E2 Black machines left in there warehouse and that they’ve already started production of the new model.

The current power nozzle has the belt on the side where it should be. The first version of the power nozzle for the current rainbow had it in the center. Moving it to the side was a big improvement. I'm hoping the new power nozzle keeps the belt on the side. Otherwise I will pass. They should add height adjustment too. Or better yet, outsource it to Wessel Werk and equip the new Rainbow with the EBK360.

speculation

I'm guessing the old thread was deleted due to a complaint from Rexair, since the information about the SRX is not yet public and it being posted on a public forum they probably threatened to sue the webmaster for it. Most likely because it may effect the sales of the Current E2 black, if people know a new model is just around the corner. But again just speculation.

Yeah but people are going to post it on really any type of online stuff, especially on Facebook. Speaking of Facebook does anyone know what Facebook group the new model is mentioned in, such as videos, photos, etc? Also does anyone know when this new model is suppose to be available for purchase? If you look on google images there’s a few (not many) of the new SRX model.

OH MY G

I google image searched and I found the picture that must have been linked to the thread that was deleted. Anyway, from what I can see, it looks like the E3 Black only silver in color. That hose looks different. Can you imagine buying a new Black rainbow, then the next day they came out with a new model? I'd be MAD LOL

group

As far as I know there isn't a group for it and if there is it's probably closed to all but rainbow dealers. I found what I could find by searching Rainbow SRX on facebook. There (to my knowledge) isn't a public group for it. You may see posts from people if you're lucky.

I just want to know a few things about the new model and hopefully someone (rather it be here or not) can help answer some of my questions.
1. Will there be a 4qt water basin option for this model?
2. Will there also be a 14ft hose option available too?
4. How quiet is it on the highest 4 setting? Like is it louder than a Dyson cordless, or quieter?
5. How much will it cost to get one with all of the optional accessories (AquaMate, RainJet complete, rainbowmate, MiniJet and whatever else is new with it)...... in the central Florida region that is.
6. Speaking of the MIniJet did it get redesign since the hose connections on the new model got redesigned?

Also this is an off topic question but it can apply to any rainbow machine. Why is it that the sprayer isn’t sold with the machine? And why is it not frequently mentioned as an optional attachment? Also is the rexafoamer basically a shampoo cap that you attach to the sprayer, if so why is it sold separately?

I'm guessing the old thread was deleted due to a complaint from Rexair, since the information about the SRX is not yet public and it being posted on a public forum they probably threatened to sue the webmaster for it.

No that isn't the reason at all. A few members had posted things in it that they regretted posting and asked me to delete that thread. If I was contacted by Rexair and they asked me to delete it I certainly would have out of respect for the company's private information, however this wasn't the case. That actually happened once on automaticwasher by Speed Queen and once they contacted me I immediately deleted the thread as it had pictures of a charts that were confidential that someone had got from an employee at SQ. There wasn't a threat of a law suit by SQ, they simply asked out of respect of their privacy that I remove that information. I was happy to oblige.

I felt really torn as to what to do about that previous thread, and I felt bad about having to delete it for reasons that shouldn't have happened in the first place. So feel free to re-create it here, I've already asked those involved that if they aren't comfortable with the thread to not post in it.

oh! oops!

😓 I guess that's where speculation gets me. Thank you for clarifying that.

But knowing that I'll re-post the image of it. Now that I see it again i'm sort of reminded of ritello

Hi Devin, I still don't think it's wise to be re-posting pictures that you didn't take when it's clear that the picture was probably taken without permission by the manufacturer, so to prevent this thread from having to be deleted as well I made the decision to delete the picture. If you took the picture yourself that would be a completely different situation.

Hope you guys understand.

When they launched this new machine did they discuss just the machine and everything that it does, or did they also discuss the optional tools for it too?

I think they discussed everything

It sounds like it's OKAY to post pics so I will post what I found. But if it's NOT ok. Feel free to delete this.

lets consider....

car manufacturers don't desire that spy photographers take pictures of the new upcoming cars in developmental stage....yet people do it b/c the buying public WANT to know...a glimpse. Those big car companies don't/can't SUE someone..aka news shows or print magazines for posting photos they have of the 'mystery' car. So, why do we think a vacuum maker has different wants/legal standing? Anyone should be able to post info/photos of anything that's for sale or will be for sale or in development. perplexing......to realistically think otherwise....no?
