That model was the very first Kirby I ever saw when we had a home demonstration back around 1973 when I was ten years old. To say I was mightily impressed with the demo would be an understatement. I was very disappointed we didn't buy one. My elementary school also had one the janitors used to vacuum the library, which was the only carpeted space in the whole school. They apparently didn't vacuum during school hours because I never saw it in use. It was always just parked next to the fiction section.

Very cool to see one 100% original and complete. So many of them get butchered with mismatched parts and just slogged around. The original bag alone is worth it. The Omega seems to be the ugly duckling of Kirbys.

I started my career with Kirby in Dubuque, Iowa, in 1975. This was the Classic Omega. I was trained to demo. and I agree with you, the demonstration was impressive! It was designed that way in the early days by James B. Kirby, and changed very little over the years. The $270.00 price tag sounds a bit low, telling me the school bought the basic Kirby, meaning without attachments. In June of 1976, I bought the first of the Classic 111 models, complete with all the bells and whistles and the price tag was $549.00, worth every penny. The following summer I joined Kirby of Oak Park, Illinois as a training manager, a job I held in various branch offices throughout the Chicago suburbs till 1992. It was a great career and the Classis series was awesome.

Nice score! Looks just like my Omega that I had bought in 94 and was a daily driver until a couple years ago. Mine also has the pinstripe bag and is from 1974 (N code).
It was restored 2 years ago and is taking a much needed rest while the Tradition now does regular duty.
As mentioned, the handle grip on yours looks to be from a 1CR. No biggie, mine broke about 10-15 years ago, could have had happened on yours, too.

The 270 price tag was with a trade, considering what they cost now 270 seems right for 1973. Your right, the handle has been replaced on this one and there is a receipt for it. lol. Too bad they didnt order the right color

Kirby Omega.
Looks like a basic sale of Kirby with no attachments, and the Rug Renovator shampoo system for an additional $10.00. The other charges were later and minor repairs. I found the print hard to read, but the Omega's of that time had problems with the upright handle, and occasionally the handle spring. Unfortunately, this carried over to the Classic 111's as well, but this time it was the grip of the upright handle. I was always able to make my customers happy by going to their homes and giving them a new handle grip. I was not so lucky with the early Traditions and that damned headlamp locking mechanism. Drove my trainees crazy and lost sales. Finally the Kirby factory wised up, eliminated that lock and demos went a lot better. As this was used in a library there was no need for the hose or attachments, but a strong need for the renovator. Too bad they didn't realize with the hose and dust brush they could vacuum the dust off the books.

No Library
This was never used in a Library, a old couple had it. It came with standard attachments and the rug renovator. no handi butler or miracle waxer. I think everyone is thinking it was in a library from humans comment, LOL

Where are you finding these sales receipts. It's what you would expect if you bought maybe a 1969 Chevelle. You want matching numbers, receipts for all parts, documentation of oil change etc.
I have a classic with everything I got for free. The guys in law's owned the vacuum. Long story short the field has screws stripped and broke off. It has half of one screw on field coil bottom above carbon brush.
I have 50-60 vacuums too. The only other documented vacuum is a sentria my late mother's friend gave to me.
Finding these documented vacs are super rare.
