Hell, if someone wanted the original "electrikbroom" power team, you could buy the 1934 Air-Way Chief dual motor from Charlie Watrous at the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Convention this coming weekend for a whole lot less. And it really would be rare and valuable.

Must have missed this post. I actually have the identical power team as above that I won 12 years ago new in box for 79.00! It is date coded as being from 1985. A tell tale sign you have a mid run 1984 or newer Electrikbroom is the much smaller box they came in. Anything from 1983 and older would have come in a much longer skinnier box. The reasons being the smaller boxed units were not fully assembled and needed the upper handle inserted into place with a wing nut and screw and the bag and collar ring snapped into place. In contrast the older longer boxed units were assembled and of higher quality and all the customer needed do was insert the nozzle or powerhead into the fan housing.
It is indeed rare to still find one of these new in box nearly 40 years later but these were hardly rare back in the day and literally every discount store was selling these for around 59.99 to 69.99 for the power team versions when on sale.

As for belts a good old Dirt Devil style 2 works quite well for me and I have been using those for years on all of my power teams dating from 1977 to 1992 when the last of this style was still being sold before changing over to the newer all plastic body units that Oreck took over during the later 90's.
