Ick. I've found a few old vacuum cleaners in that condition as well. Odors that will NEVER fully disappear from vacuum cleaners:
• cat pee
• funky dog hair
• cigarette smoke
If this 63 was BNITB with all attachments, paperwork etc., then maybe it would be worth $500.00. But, in my opinion, not otherwise.
(I once found a beautiful, mint-condition, not-a-flaw, tight-sealed woven Lux AE hose. The most perfect AE hose I saw since childhood. Big problem though: It was tinted a sickly green color instead of vivid gray and blue as should be ... couldn't figure out why until I smelled it ... UGH ... decades of old nicotine covered the thing. I found some kind of liquid stuff somewhere that's used to remove nicotine from walls. I don't remember now where I found it. I put some in a tub of water and soaked the hose for two days, then scrubbed the hose with a stiff bristle-brush. Some, but not all, the discoloration came off. But the stench of stale nicotine lingered. I still have the hose but it's sealed in triple layers of plastic bag and sealed shut.)
