We live in the midwest and have a lot of snow. I have used my Rainbow for years to clean the mess up on the garage floor from the snow, water, salt and black sludge that falls off the cars over night in the garage.
Used to try and use buckets of water, squeegee's and brooms but this method works so much faster and you NEVER touch the cold dirty water. It takes me about 1/2 hour to do a 2 car garage.
(1) I start with empty basin and use floor bush on floor. It picks up salt, melted snow and that nasty black sludge.
(2) fill Rainbow spayer with HOT water and Spic&Span. Spray the floor with light coat
(3) now use floor brush to vacuum up the floor. No need to rinse with Spic&Span
(4) To clean up Rainbow-empty basin and fill the spay jar 4 times with hot water at the sink and suck water into basin. This cleans the wands and hose. I rinse the floor brush off.
(5) I DO wash the separater in this case. Some people just rinse it off and put it in the dishwasher.
It works great and you are only using 4 pints of water. You never have to mess with buckets of water and dirty mops and the Rainbow air flow helps dry the floor. You also are not trying to clean up dirty mops, bucket and brooms.
I keep the spray jar and basin right in the bathroom so it is handy to fill and empty. Because the spray jar is a pint you wlays know where you are with the water baskin level.
I only have to empty the water basin one time.
This cleans ALL the salt off the floor and protects both your cement and from tracking the dried salt and sand into your house.
