I just got a Hoover Celebrity QS,and know very little about it, (please forgive my ignorance of Hoovers). About what year were these vacs made? (Its the blue/green model with the stainless steel top). Does not have the tools or tool holder, but the hose and PN, and brush roll look good,,motor sounds fine, no grinding or whining when turned on or shut off. rubber seal around the cannister is in good condition.
What kind of bags and filters does it take? Are they easy to get? Im assuming a new belt in good condition is important,,are the belts easy to get? What can i do so that the vac is as dust proof as possible? Im assuming the hose ends are fragile,so will try to store it without stress on the hose. Are hoses still avalible for this machine?
What should i know about this vac? (yes its hard to teach a Kirby man new tricks, haha) Thanks in advance! Brian W.

The Celebrity takes type H bags, most vac shops have them, if not ebay. I'm not sure what belt it takes, but they shouldnt be hard to find

the belts you can find at a hardware, 5 & 10, lowes, Home Depot, some dollar, and grocery stores. usually the package of Homecare canister power nozzle belts work or just look for the blue Hoover package of belts for the power nozzle

the last i checked......

according to our supplier, hardly ANYTHING is still made for ths machine or any other celebrity, concept, convertible, dial.a.maitc, constellation etc....... thats why hooover is not
the best anymore, because they will produce a machine and ether
not supply parts at all, or produce parts for a short time then call the model dead. i hate to say it being a
Hoover lover but, thats what you get with TTI.

hope this helps

BTW< if anyone has corrections of more information that i miss quoted, please by all means feel free to ad^_^

Yes, that is true. What most unassuming people don't know is that Hoover (as WE know it) is gone. It no longer exists. IMHO, it would have been better had the name not been sold to TTI, and just gone out of business completely, that way they wouldn't have the opportunity to drag the company logo through the mud. They were finally starting to get it right by re-introducing the Constellation. It will be me more important now than ever for mom & pop vac stores to cannibalize the ones they get in trade, so that these loyal workhorses can trudge on. RIP Hoover, F*CK TTI! Just my two cents.

OK, i got a better grasp of this now,,,if i find bags and belts for this vac,,probablly wouldnt be a bad idea to stock up!? Thanks for all your help guys!

DVC bags

DVC is making most of the bags for the older machines so save some money and by the DVC bags instead of paying more for a DVC bag in a Hoover Package.

Will do,,thank you! BTW, How much "Filtering" do i get from these bags? Im assuming they are not exactly "Hepa" filtration quality? Are there bags avalible for the older Hoovers that ARE a Hepa type,,or at least several layers thick?

Well, i completly and totally HATE this vacuum,,,thought this one may be the Hoover for me, but once again, WRONG!
(i know, im weird,,Hoover's just arnt for me evidently),Yes, its an excellent machine,in good condition, has awsome power, but i hate it. ,,,if anyone is interested in buying this Celebrity QS or trading..let me know!
