Can someone shed some light on this brand? The upright looks like it could be a rebadged Riccar or Panasonic. The canister looks like the recent Royal canister.

That canister reeks of TTI...the upright looks cool, but is said to be a rebadged Evolution per a previous thread 24963 in this category. I saw the uprights on Amazon and thought they were a good deal. That canister is a cross between the Windtunnel Anniversary/Oreck Quest/Royal Lexon. Working part time in an Oreck store, I can only speak of our version, and it's reliabilty was so bad, we stopped stocking it when we took on the Miele line. Short hoses, small "euro" style attachments, and hose/wand/power nozzle electrical issues. Those things could happen to any canister line, and does, BUT usually years down the road with use and abuse, not when they're so new they're under warranty!

Thanks for that Patrick! That's the exact unit used for the Oreck Quest, right down to the POS power nozzle. When ours came out in candy apple red I was excited, but quickly recognized was not the quality of our former canister which was the Dutchtechs. I believe those were a Phillips produced machine with a Wessel-Werk power nozzle in the later models. They kicked butt! They also retailed for twice what the TTI creation did, but worth it.

They are powerful little vacuums which are plagued by issues. Reliability is horrid, switches break, the PN wiring fails and/or the PN motor does. The reviews from users all start out good but end with the same failures - when it's working they are great... but like a 70's Jaguar, they are rarely working.
So I did some research and found out that the Prolux vacuum cleaner trademark has been owned since 2011 by Rocky Mountain Vacuum Brokers LLC of West Jordan, UT, which was founded in 1998.
I wonder if the company is owned by former Electrolux management or if it's a division of Aerus Holdings LLC? Regardless, sometime around 1998 Electrolux LLC dropped the Prolux vacuum cleaner label on its commercial uprights and its retail line CB2000 power nozzles. It had used the trademark since 1987.
Interestingly, the Prolux name does not seem to be restricted in its ownership as other companies also use it--including a New Zealand fittings company, a towing parts company, and a manufacturing company.
As for current Prolux vacuum cleaner manufacturing, I found a Prolux 7000 upright on the Simplicity website; so that would indicate a Tacony product labeled for Rocky Mountain, TTI and others. I didn't do a thorough search for other Prolux vacuums on Simplicity's website but am guessing that they, too, are manufactured by Tacony.

Nope. Some Prolux uprights are NOT made by Tacony, they are made by ESSCO.
Rocky Mountain Vacuum Brokers are also called "Great Vacs". It's a place where they refurbish Kirby, Rainbow, etc, and they sell them online like ebay, overstock, amazon, etc.
Speaking of Prolux, my Electrolux Prolux is currently over there getting serviced.

Interesting ... I visited the ESSCO website and didn't find any mention of its own production line.

I'm guessing that the Veridian label is/was Aerus's commercial retail line (not sure if it's still in production).
