The bag is a replacement. I have never seen one in this color scheme with a painted metal front head, usually it is a type of plastic. Must be juuuust pre-WWII. This is a krinkle grey head finish, with a krinkle maroon motor. The Kenmore is all brown krinkle and made by Birtman.

I think all Premier hand vacuums had a red plate, GE ones had a black one.

I want to say Birtman ones had aluminum or brass model plates, with the writing engraved and colored in. I could be wrong but that is what I've seen.
