PowerFlite GIANT upright vacuum

A few days ago bought a PowerFlite widesweep vacuum-24"this thing is HUGE and impressive-has a 10A DuMore Corp motor-and a 7" metal fan.Delightful but cumbersome machine to use.Does a really good job-almost as good as a Kirby or Royal metal.Can't get the link to PowerFlite website to work.

Wow. I can sort of imagine it, since my screen is 24", but I think we need a good picture with something to show scale to truly realize how big it is.

Didn't know such big vacuums existed.

Yes thats the one-mine is the PF2004-the 24" wide version.When you use the machine-its much like a lawnmower.The vacuum does VERY WELL on bare floors-it has a brush on the rear lips of its floor nozzle.Its like the squeegee like part on the rear lip of an Oreck or Riccar vacuum simalar to the Oreck.That way the roller brush doesn't kick things out from underneath.And whatever is picked up makes a delightful "PING" thru the HUGE metal fan turned by the 10A motor.Despite its bulk-the thing is sort of fun to use-just wished I had an auditorium sized floor for it to "play" on!The vac shop here had the machine in their display for a long time-Mike asked me and gave a good price-so I bought it.It uses a 6.5Gal paper bag inside the cloth one that looks like the grass catcher on a lawnmower.For my deep carpet-have the nozzle set to its highest setting-think the machine was more designed for low pile commercial carpets.Its amazing what the cleaner can pick up-even long strips of paper that would clog a Kirby or Royal.LOVE THIS THING LIKE MY KIRBY!!

If you want to compare size-think of a walk behind lawnmower.Its like that size.

I used to use one of those, just a lot older. They're quite amazing, and suprisingly quieter than you would think!

Yes,mine is quiet too,makes much less noise than many vacuums out there and can do a better job.Thinks its becuase of the slow turning motor-11,000RPM and the large fan.Same idea as the NSS M1 vacuums-a slower turning motor with a large fan.The fan has straight blades instead of curved ones that direct air vacuums usually have.It still works real good though.Sort of wonder if a NSS M1 fan would fit in this machine-and how much of a diffrence it would make.The M1 fan has curved blades.

Hoover just came out with a similar machine that is 30". It has a two motor system, 224 cfm and is only 70db.

Didn't the Hoover wide sweep Vacuum just have two Guardians coupled together?Or is this a totally new machine?Powerflite has a more expensive 30" wide vacuum that has three motors-two for suction and one to turn the roller brush.Its a giant clean air unit.Later Powerflite data shows the model I have can move 220CFM.
