Servicing & restoring ( a bit) a classic vacuum ....and paying attention to some of the details ...can really ad to try vacuums’ effectiveness. Here, I work on a just arrived Rainbow D4 SE dated 1986. I addressed a commonly overlooked ( I think) area on the power-nozzle....the gasket/rubber/foam that seals the bottom plate ...on the inside ...& helps keep the airflow/dust going where it’s designed to go. This is my 2nd power-nozzle where I’ve replaced the foam that had SO deteriorated. I also replaced foam sealing the motor off as one photo shows it’s completely gone.
Hope this encourages any of you to take another look at yours...& see if it needs reviving as well.
