This is a prototype. It won't be a Simplicity or a Riccar, but will be called the "Volt". As soon as they are available for sale through the Factory Outlet Store, I will let people know then. I do not at this time know what the cost will be. I wanted people to know 'it's coming'. All our vintage tank cleaners, even including the Hoover Aerodyne, will now be able to properly clean rugs.

I WANT ONE!!!When will they be available at your local favorite dealer-He wants this, too!!The dealer beleives his central vac customers would love this device-I would like to see it available with detacheable battries so one is charging while the other is in use.I would think if it can be done with power tools and lawnmowers-could be done with this, too.I have two lawnmowers that use 40V battery packs. You can work while the other pack is charging-half hour later the battery is charged-you could keep working without having to wait for a battery to charge. This ability would make that attachment much more useful.

Hmmm... just what I need to really dig some dirt with my older machines and I imagine it would significantly improve any vacuums performance given the quality of design and build Tacony is known for. I may actually buy something 'new'.

This is The "Volt" cordless tandem-air power nozzle. You'll note the lightning bolt in the black space between the "L" and the "T" in the logo. This is exactly how the production model looks. It's going into production the middle of June and should be available for sale at the end of June.

Every vacuum collector with vintage tank/canister cleaners can now enjoy real, full depth carpet cleaning.

My favorite machine to hook up with The "Volt" is a Rexair "Chrome Dome" from the early 1960's. So much airflow from the Rainbow, combined with the tandem-air suction fan of The "Volt" make for unstoppable cleaning power.

The "Volt" weighs about 9 pounds. I am not sure exactly what the retail price will be yet, however, since it is NOT a Riccar or Simplicity branded product, they will be available for sale on-line, at central vac dealers (especially Vacuflo dealers as the Volt was designed for Vacuflo's "Hide A Hose" system), and of course, from the Vacuum Cleaner Factory Outlet Store at Tacony's factory in St. James, Missouri.

To minimalize drag on the motor (which would deplete the battery quicker), the Volt uses a rubber belt. It's a DC motor, so could not use a Hall Sensor with the serpentine belt as used on the Premium Tacony Ultra Lite models.

the volt

Interesting name, wonder if they will come out with a product called the amp at some point. This nozzle sounds awesome, only disadvantage I can think of is that if it uses rubber belts, you will be replacing those frequently. It would be interesting if Tacony changed the design of their universal power nozzle for central vacuums to work this way.

height adjustment

Since the cordless vacuum has automatic height adjustment, I'm assuming this power nozzle is the same? I know many people think that manual height adjustment works better, and the other Tacony power nozzles have a height adjustment setting. On the other hand, power nozzles such as the ones from Aerus are auto adjusting and many people think they clean very well.

The Volt is such a fascinating item but I have several questions about it.

Can the Volt be connected to a non-electric hose with a handle that has a friction-fit type connector that's 1 1/4in in diameter?

Would it be necessary to drill a hole on such handle and add a c-clip button spring (like the one here https://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-push-button-lock-springs-wand/dp/B00MT6TE82) so that the connection to the Volt would be secured?

Will the Volt be available in Canada?

answers to questions

I can't say whether it will be available in Canada, though I would assume it should be possible to obtain. There should be no need to drill any holes, the nozzle will fit on to a standard hose end quite well. Once this nozzle is available, there will be little if any reason to purchase a turbo nozzle if you have a nonelectric hose, this nozzle will outperform every turbo nozzle available.
