It's all about being civil..people don't mind a joke about something for example but when it's the same person(s) continually berating even jokingly to the point of annoyance to the membership at large each and everytime then that isn't acceptable in my book. I think most of us know what I'm talking about.

I think we all should get points for being civil...very adult.
And to throw my opinion in the ring...when I first laid eyes on a Dyson, I thought "It looks like a toy and it is just too fussy. I want my metal-based vacuums to make a comeback".
Since then the world has changed 50 or 100 times. Bagless vacuums have become MUCH more popular, Dysons have improved and have become a gorilla in the competitive market, and many large, formerly well-made vacuums have gone down the path to near-extinction in the name of survival and suicidal cost-cutting measures.
Though I still find Dysons not my cup of tea, I think they have improved a LOT. I think they are a formidable competitor with a better product than they used to have. BUT....I personally find bagless vacuums require just too much maintenance to perform on a regular basis. The old-style vacuums with a bag were pretty easy to maintain. And I believe that the average user is NOT going to do the maintenance. It was tough enough in the "olden days" to get them to change the bag and belt!

My brother and sis in law LOVE their Dyson Ball. I've never had any personal experience with their product, only go by what I see and hear. So far, I've heard more good, and I am not always a sunny and positive person, but I don't believe in relentless (negative) critique of them or any other product represented on this site.
I have two Dysons
A model DC07 All Floors, and a DC14 All Floors. They are not the best cleaners I have in my collection, but they are far from the worst too. As far as bagless goes, I generally prefer bagged machines. Besides the Dysons, I have two other bagless vacuums. One is a Eureka Altima, and the other is a cheap Kenmore canister. The Altima is a PITA to empty and needs a lot of maintenance, however as with anything else, if properly maintained it performs well. The Kenmore is useless. The dirt cup is so small, it needs frequent emptying in use. The filter in it also is useless. It plugs up so fast, and suction drops so fast, that I have put this machine away and never use it any more.
As far as the Dysons go, I find that if someone absolutely has to have a bagless machine, then the Dyson system is among the best. It has two filters, a pre-motor filter that is easily checked and washed, and a post motor HEPA filter that you are never supposed to have to clean or replace. When I got my DC07, I bought new filters for it simply because I didn't know what kind of environment it came from, not because I had to. The HEPA filter, while it had some dust was in very good condition. Even though I changed it anyway, I kept the old for a spare "just in case". I also like how easy it is to check and clear clogs in the machines. Since I got my DC14, I hardly use the DC07 anymore, and a good lady friend of mine wants a Dyson so bad, but she can't afford to buy one. I think I'm gonna surprise her tonight and gift her the DC07. Hope she likes it.

I think some people get more offended than others when it comes to their favorite brand. I am a TTI dealer, warranty station, and see a lot of their products before you people even know about them. However, I sit back and listen to the bashings of TTI and say nothing. While it is kind of obnoxious and most of the bashers of TTI show a complete ignorance to skills concerning mass production and marketing, I do not really "flare up" with the postings. Then again, TTI products are not my TOL offerings either.
I have noticed over time with customers that Dysons are either adored and loved or they are hated. I guess that is the same with vacuum collectors. You either adore that plastic mass produced vacuum, or you hate it. We are all very passionate about collecting, and a lot of us are very passionate about brands we love. For those of us who love the Hoover convertible...I was visiting with one of TTI's regional sales manager yesterday and pretty much begged him to come out with a dealers only version of the Decade 80...Royal just came out with a commercial model that is a revamped Decade 80 and it is gorgeous.

That decade is nice. How much do they sell for? I do hope they decide to come out with some kind of decade or convertible style cleaner in the household hoover line. I wish they would start back with the constellations again too. I like them, but a power nozzle would be nice. Hint, hint

It is MAP'd at $299. Really nice machine with a very nice warranty. If demand is high enough, we will likely direct wire a 30-35' cord on the machine, install a Hoover Type A outer bag and market the machine as a household machine also. I've got the machines on order and would be happy to take some photos when they arrive to show fellow vacuum collectors.
I have known about this machine for quite awhile and immediately suggested to a number of folks that this needs to be rebadged as a Royal or Hoover household machine. This could very well be a possibility. The Royal MRY6500 is also marketed through vac stores as a Hoover Signature. The difference between the Royal and Hoover is that the Hoover is 2-speed with a shorter cord and different color.
When my rep and her supervisor were out at the store the other morning, I pulled my Hoover catalog page from the early-mid 80s and showed them the perfect lime green color for the Decade 80.

I love the green decade 80, as well as the others. I am currently using a decade 800 from 1989. It is the kind of dusty blue one. The original bag was torn so I had to get one of those plain gray generic ones off of ebay but I would like to find the original one. Its kind of a bluish gray or grayish blue,lol
that CR50075 looks like a nice machine-I would like to buy and try it.and I like the replaceable cord-wether for home or commercial use-Would suggest Royal goes to detachable cords on the metal uprights too.That way-the cord can be easily replaced-and from your local hardware store-you can choose a cord whose length suits your needs.I like that the machine is for dealers only--No big box stores!I own MANY "commercial" machines and use them at home.Royal,NSS,commercial Hoover.I think the commercial lines are more sturdy-and some cases perform better than household machines.And if they break-easier to repair.

The brushroll is a 4 brush agitator, no beater bars. I have no clue whether or not they will fit the old Hoovers- as soon as they arrive I will check and see.
