Okay, this is another one that came from the Goodwill Outlet store for $1.99. As usual, no wand or vacuum head for it but the tools were still present in their on-board compartment. This is a pretty nice little machine, light but well-made. It has the two big wheels in back with one little caster wheel in front. Retractable cord. It's in very nice shape and came with a new C-4 bag installed.

When I plugged the machine in to see if it ran, it did but with no suction. I removed the hose from the cannister and peered into the opening of the hose. It was plugged up with one of those little plastic child-proof caps for an AC outlet. This is a good example of the reason some people throw stuff away. Of course once I removed the obstruction, it sucked away like crazy.

Well, I guess I'm going to be looking for a wand and vacuum head for it now and don't have a clue what they look like.

It's interesting that some mostly plastic machines can be so well-made (like this Japanese Panasonic which says "made in Malaysia" on it) and others such as so many Chinese-made machines just stink of poor quality.

I have one other nominally Japanese cannister vacuum, which is a Sanyo. It's a nice little machine but it doesn't use a bag and has a rather complex (and expensive) filter system in it.

Nice find indeed! I belive the wands and floor tool ar almost the same as the Sanyo you speek of except the floor nozzle has a pedal on each end. One for "floor" and one for "rug".
