On my recent trip to Indiana, I brought back the original hose for the Electrolux LX pictured here. As I remembered, that hose had a bad leak, so I thought it was unusable. Prior to bring my paperwork and a few small tools home, I'd been using a newer model hose, as well as a hose my buddy Steve sent me a few months ago.
Yesterday I got a bit frisky and decided to see exactly what was wrong with the hose. Turned out that the rubber at the last 1/4 inch of the machine end had worn away, and was down to fabric. So I removed the end, refitted it with strong glue and let it set. This morning I tested it, and full suction! Needless to say, that hose got a good workout today.
The picture here is from about 1990, the plug on the cordwinder needed to be replaced with an exact copy, so, at the time I was using this LXI winder. Today it's 100% complete, the only thing I don't have is the cardboard box my buddy Tom Gasko gave me in 1993. That box is still in Indiana, as it was to fragile to ship home.
