Is the brushroll still wooden with crimped bristles??

OK, they finally started to look beyond the flat rubber belt and went with a more durable Endurolife type. Now if we could just get Oreck to ditch the their crimped bristle brushroll. It works so well that I have to constantly monitor the performance of my Platinum uprights (I have 2).I can literally watch the machine and tell when the brushroll is not effective because it has too much hair stuck to it. The machine will start to skip over the surface of the carpet. The brushroll does what it's supposed to do: catching surface litter. It actually catches every speck of pet hair. However, I find that I must clean the brushroll after each room or it will no longer dig in to the carpet nap. My Riccar Supralite won't do this, and it's American made. I can feel the difference when I use it.

Vacuum testing

Al these vacuum manufacturers say that they have been testing thier new design for months /years before they launch it, sorry but most of the time its BS.

If they did test them properly then why do they break so fast. I.ve worked in R&D fr a few vacuum company's and the engineers do try and test them but ultimatly its the money men who say , we need it on the market now! screw the problems we will deal with them later.

The days of good product design are long gone, its about sales, a reliable product is useless if it doesn't sell and outsell its competitors. If there is a new product to be launched by one comapny the other will rush like mad to get there one out first.

Its like a vacuum space race.

every day a new product is not launched is millions in lost revenueand that never sits well with Money men.

Luanch first fix later
