Is it any good?

Oreck I think have been sold off and turned into made in china crap now. I see a bunch of people here have caught the fever and went to Wal-Mart and bought one. Is it any good? I’m sure it will be fine for a few years and by the time it’s 5 to 10 years old will be due for replacement.

Don’t think I’ll ever stray from my all time favorite of Aerus/Electrolux but fun to see what you all think of this new Oreck? And does it do more than just carpet? Any attachments?

Jon

The Oreck Halo does have attachments, You can buy a canister seperatly with your oreck at your dealer, that one guy in my nearest oreck dealer who sold me that oreck commercial was a really nice man.

The Oreck Halo started off as an entirely different vacuum, the UV-ST made by Halo. It was then later rebadged as an Oreck (where Oreck in turn made false claims about its germ killing prowess which got the vacuum binned). It was never intentionally designed as an Oreck to start with though.

Oreck by tradition and as marketing, never makes a vacuum with attachments. You must buy the Buster hand vac if you want to clean furniture, upholstery, etc. Sometimes they sell them as a package bundle at a discount.

Oreck also has a backpack vacuum as well, which was mainly marketed for light duty commercial use.
