Its so nice when fellow collectors have meets. It looks like you guys had a blast,I love the coffee pots Dave,and the Kent vac is in deed a rare jem,as well as the excalibur Mike.I had a red Excalibur in 1996 for a few weeks and yes the switch actualy melted!I didnt think the suction was to bad at the hose end.
Mike-don't be embarressed about the room its perfect,it had that 'lived in" look like my room(wich is why I havn't taken any collection pics yet).
Dave- Im glad you have found your kitchen table,can you find mine? lol. 4 days untill chritmas and I still havn't finished wrapping or found the kitchen table,coffee table or the top of the sideboard. Oh well 4 days off(3left) and im working on it .
Brian, give me a few min,and I will give you a pacifier till dave can get his pics up lol.

Awww..your welcome *blushes*. hope your headache get better.If I had more room id have a few more Eureka's. The dial-a-nap I found just a few weeks in the trash its in good cond,with minimal scratches. I had that one when I was 9(also a trash find) but I let someone borrow it and they broke the fan with a micro machine little car and thew it out.

Sarnia Pete tells me the Floormate was sold at Sears Canada so I should be able to get the squeegee through them and I'll check that out today, as well as Ellisons Vac Shop. Thankyou for your kind offer, Kenny but truly it would cost more than the part is worth to go to the bother of shipping it cross border to Canada. I will find one, it's only an 8 year old machine.

Meanwhile, back in Stratford, last night I placed the lid of the blue Eureka (The model # tag is missing) on the scanner and got a perfect lifesize image of the script. Printed out a draft version so now I'll print it out on stickyback paper and color it up with a gold pen, cut it out and stick it on as a temporary cosmetic fix. The main objective of all this is to artfully plug up the eight 1/8" holes in the lid the emblem posts sat in, so I can use the vacuum to its full sucking potential and get an accurate reading.

I still haven't unpacked the boxs of small appliances from the trip yet. But I did do a hose connector exchange for the two hams. My green hose had a blue connector, while the blue hose had a green connector. Just didn't seem right. And I do want a near as possible perfect Eureka Euphoria picture to post. LOL

I don't think Eureka intended for anyone to actually attempt to remove the swivel connectors, as they use a snap ring that tucks inside an inner groove and shows inside the connector about 1/2". I suppose when new one could force the ring to compress by pulling the hose back with brute force but at this age the hose weave just wouldn't take that kind of abuse. If only Eureka had put notches in the snap ring ends so you could compress it to slide the barrel out...But with patience, needlenose pliers, a few tiny screwdrivers & a hammer to knock the ring around to the split, judicious utility knife trimming and a needlenose mini Vice Grip to ease it out in a spiral...it can be done. For future Technerdgeekdork removal be sure to reassemble with the split visible. Both of these had the split rotated out of sight with no way of knowing exactly where...LOL

Observations while clambering up Eureka Mountain...

This is a really subtle picture but if you concentrate you can make out that the magic erasured half of this VibraBeat nozzle is pale blue and the right side appears greenish. This is the nature of the tint and optical illusion a nicotine patina imparts. It is so easy to be fooled under dim light.

Continuing to draw out the anticipation for Brian to an almo

When Green tools are set beside Blue tools the difference easily discernible.

After cleaning, besides the obvious colour shift, the blue tools have a blue rubber bumper and the Green tools have a green bumper. Smaller rubber-based Blue tools also often have pebbly-textured patches and the newer style upholstery tool. The green crevicetool is cardboard fiber painted to match.

Yes Dave, all very interesting I'm sure but where are you going with this?
