Omega and Tradition Differences?

As far as I know, yes... I am sure somebody else here will know better about whether the Tradition's field coil will work on your Omega.

The field coils are indeed (maybe slightly) different between the two: the Classic Omega and Classic III both use the 103973 field, while the Tradition uses the 103978 field.

The armature is the same from the Classic Omega through to and including the Legend II. It is part no. 114973.

Yes, the motors in the Omega and Tradition are the same, I am not sure why there is a different part number for the field on the Tradition, as far as I remember they were the same with the exception of the earlier Traditions which had the speed switch up in the headlight, Oh wait, theres the difference, the headlight wire harness, in the Omega there is 2 leads that push into the headlight housing, on the Tradition it is more like the Heritage, the headlight harness has 2 spades that snap into the housing and the headlight assay. plugs into. I hope this helps. You can use the Tradition field in the Omega but you have to cut the leads off the orange and white terminals going to the headlight and tin them with a little solder and push them into the Omegas headlight assay. Good Luck

You'll need a special fan locking tool (part number T130) to remove the fan. Take the motor shell off, then the front fan chamber, insert the T130 tool into the slot in the bottom right corner of the motor bell housing, slide a pin through the fan pulley shaft, and twist the pin clockwise REALLY hard (it's reverse threaded and hard to get off.) The fan should then come loose...

Ben (KirbyClassicIII) may have a service manual sheet to better explain this to you.
