Blaze,

What is the production series of your Oly One (the two letters of the serial number; located by the caster)?

I've recorded these series for the Oly One (likely incomplete):

Model 1401

KY (11.1979)
NA (decal)
NF (decal)

Model 1401-B (haven't researched which have decals):

NK
NL
NM
NP
NR
NS

Model 1505:

NT (5-year warranty)

N51523T
N72856S
N70233S
N41562D

The one ending in T is the one I was going to buy that says 1401-B on it, but has a plastic inner bag door. The one ending in D is the 1401 lake placid one I have

Thanks. It's interesting that two different models were part of the same production series. It just shows that you can't necessarily match traits or upgrades according to an Electrolux USA's production series.

Not knowing the typical length of a series, yours could either be a late '79 or early '80.

Hmmm,

I didn't see reply #20 till now. So based on your list I'm wondering if the second letter changed at each 10,000th unit.

When I began recording I'd included the numbers, then I figured it wasn't necessary as they weren't coded as I'd initially thought but just the production number. Anyway, I removed the numbers as a result and now can't test my new theory!

After all is said and done...

do you have a personal favorite? You have a really great collection! Can you tell me if the motors are pretty much the same size in all that you have there? Thanks, Billy

Favorites

My favorites are the 1401 models and the 1505 Models. Out of everything I have the 50 Jubilee which is a model 1205, have the same motor. The 1205 had a smaller motor. Since that picture was taken I have added a gray 1453, another Super J, and a couple Kirbys…...Classic III and a Tradition

1505 Olympia

I have collected a couple Olympias with the NT serial number and so far anything with NT has a plastic inside bag door...Have not run across a Olympia 1505 yet
