You'll never believe what I found sitting by my front door this afternoon!

It's another Olympia!! I have no idea who left it there but it obviously was someone who knows I collect vacuum cleaners.

It's in lovely condition, only needing a quick wipe-down. It just came with the hose which leaks like a sieve. That's probably why someone got rid of it because they thought it was no good. However, the motor runs perfectly and powerfully with no rumbles or bearing noise.

It's different from the one I already have; it's the later model with the Silverado-style handle.

Looks like a lovely machine. It's funny how when you collect enough of something it seems to create a certain gravitational field that attracts other similar things.
 
Great gift and what a shining duo on the winners' podium of vintage vacuum quality and appearance!

The two 1979 owners' manuals picture the hoses sans the cuff, so the 1401-B is likely a 1980 production.
