Old (90's?) Miele S255i on Ebay - its never been used!

Hi

I am sorry i admitted to buying and collecting it, i thought some people would have been glad it has gone to a good caring home. I have had loads of Miele and many other vacs over the years. I did drive 2 hours each way to collect it.

On the plus side the vac is mint, i have polished it today and taken some pictures

You adjust the power settings by pressing on the black pedal between the on/off pedal and the cord rewind pedal.

That isn't the issue. It is the way the seller did which Ebay won't like. Glad you got this cleaner, its a great machine.

Mat - the thing is that I was interested in this vacuum myself, and what you did was sneaky and selfish. Why couldn't you bid on it it the same as other people would have to. You may well have won it at the end of the auction, but at least other interested parties would had a fair chance of winning it.  The seller is ultimately to blame, but its up to ebay to deal with him. I have reported him for his actions. I don't like people who don't play fair.

I would not consider myself sneaky or selfish, all i did was send a ebay question to the seller saying "hi dude, do u have a buy now price" he said yes and i bought it.

Why am i being made out to be the bad guy?

Hi Mat,

Nice one getting the Miele, glad it went to a good home where it will be well looked after.

Make sure you get some good snaps of the machine and all the bits and bobs that came with it.

Great find! I see nothing wrong with ending eBay stuff early. I was selling a nib Aquajet, had been on for a few days and was at about 20 quid, then someone emailed me, and transferred £110 into my bank and I pulled the listing.

If you were selling it would you say no to more money?

Mat, I didn't think you were being made to appear as such. It is the seller at fault, not you. If you were arranging to pay cash on collection, you have no idea whether the seller was going to sell on or off Ebay.

The fact that you messaged the person via Ebay means the seller has left themselves wide open to Ebay investigating their account, but again that's not your fault or problem as there is no trace to say you actually bought the item, unless you used your paypal account. It's the seller who will be in bother.

No, but if I was selling on Ebay and wanted to continue to do so, for the few pounds I'd have to pay in fees, I'd accept the offer and close the auction in accordance Ebay rules, and pay the fees.

Anybody else noticed several times madabouthoovers being a total twat to somebody and then deleting his post to try and avoid being caught? It seems to be a recurring theme.

Turby, we've had this out before, and I'm not going through another session with you. So you can keep on and on  as much as you like, but it wont change what I think about what happened with that Miele cleaner. The fact that you think I'm a twat really means very little to me.
