Hey y'all, take a look at the bag on this Kirby. (See link.) I've never seen one like it! It's the SHAPE of the earlier black bag 1C~505 but the COLOR and STYLE of the later gray bag 508~512, and it has a slide-on bag top with no cloth collar.

It would be crazy for someone to do so, but do you THINK maybe someone took apart a gray bag and re-sewed it in the earlier shape? I have honestly never seen one like this. It may be a crossover bag from the 505 to the 508, used for a short time with the 508 before the new, more angular-shaped bag was designed.

The upper stripe is hidden behind the handle. You can see it in the third picture down, in the side view of the machine with the bag not inflated.

Charlie, I saw that too, I was thinking maybe it was a Genuine replacement bag for the "C" series Kirby's? BTW, I love that replacement Kirby C bag that you have on eBay, I am going to bid on it, I have a beautiful Kirby C that I recently refurbished and am in need of a bag to put it on eBay. Talk to you soon.

Ben, this bag is different from a "normal" early gray bag in terms of the shape, as I explained. The early black bags were rather wide, wider than they were deep, the width curving out in the middle and then tapering up toward the top, and the top comes to pointed when viewed sideways.

The later bags were very angular shaped all the way up to the top, and the top, when the bag is inflated, is square-shaped and rather flat on the top.

Compare the shape of the bag below with the shape of the "mystery bag" on eBay and what I'm explaining should be clear.
