Odd mismatched serial numbers with Kirby's

I found that my Mom's Kirby G4 had two different serial numbers, one engraved near the exhaust, and one sticker on the bottom, near the power drive mechanism.


The exhaust number is 7950300969, but the drive mechanism number is 1950300965.


 


My Mom never had her G4 serviced, or any parts replaced, so this puzzled me why there would be two different serial numbers on the same machine. Are there any other Kirby's like this? I don't have another G-Series to compare it with...

Odds are someone has asked 'your' question at some point in the past. And many times the answers to one's (your) questions are in the archives, IF one chooses to L@@K.
