Hey guys, I have a question about a vacuum I saw. I was going thru ebay last night and I noticed a vac that got me curious. I dont usually pay much attention to the rainbow knock off type vacs out there but I saw this ocean blue and the pics were pretty good so I looked at it a little more closely and then found the website. I thought the water pan and the seperator setup looked almost just like a d4 style rainbow. I liked the looks of the whole thing and the canister part actually looked nicer than a rainbow, and I am a long time rainbow fan. However I use an se/pe as I find them easier than the E series. Anyway, they had some instruction videos on the website so I watched them all and I really like the pn, attachment, and the hoses. Anyway, Does anyone have one, or ever used one? Just wanted some opinions. Where are they from, how old is the company, hows the power compared to the rainbow? I have seen other water vacs but they usually look cheap looking and since this one has the seperator I thought it might be just as good as the rainbow setup. I have had many many thermaxes over the years, and they are ok but the filtering process isnt as effective as the rainbow. Alot of dirt gets to the filter on the bottom. I like them for extraction but not so much for vacuuming. Your opinions will be appreciated, thanks

I own one .

It is a great water vacuum . The powernozzel is mage by Wessel Works (Germany) same one used on Miele , Robo clean and proaqua the last two also water vacs I own .The Ocean blue is a perfected D4 in my opinion. It does a great job and I use it a good bit . I think the company had some trouble and may be out of business ? I am not sure though . I also own a newer two speed Rainbow E series but my favorite Water Vacuum is a Pro Aqua which is 100% made in Germany it out cleans a lot of vacuums. I am going to get a Hyla GST once I could find a great buy on one. The Ocean Blue is a great Water Vacuum if you ever get a chance buy one !

Interesting looking machine. Nice color. I like the power nozzle but the attachments look cheap and generic. It looks like it does not have a direct connect hose. Also don't care much for the hose and attachments not matching color of the machine.
Where would you get service and parts? Does anyone know what they cost new?
I think I will stay with the Rexair. I like the new design of the Aqua-mate.
Also wonder what the noice level is on the Ocena Blue?
Always fun to investigate a "new" machine!
Thanks for the thread.

If you look closely it is a direct connect pn. I was also wondering about parts and service though. I would also love to try the new aquamate for the rainbow. Looks much better.

Well I went back but it still looks like I see a pig tail from the hose to the machine. Did you notice the way you store the power cord?

I am completely dumbfounded as to why this company has not yet been sued by Rainbow. I guess they knocked the D4 off just enough that they kept everything legal.

Imitation is the best form of flattery...but please people, be creative when you design something

Chris, if you look closer, you can tell that it's actually a copycat of a Rainbow D2 canister- they have just changed the top of the motor & how the handle is designed. One really good clue is, just look at the dolly- nearly identical, except they added the posts for the tools to rest on the dolly.

Also, if you download the owners manual & read it, if you look at the waterpan, it LOOKS identical to a Rainbow's- however, they changed the hose connector slightly, so that it twists into place rather than use a metal clip. However, if one wanted to, a Rainbow waterpan could always be substituted if you wanted to use a Rainbow hose & tool set. So, I think they waited till the patents on the Rainbow D2 expired, & then made
just enough modifications to avoid being sued.

I personally like the powerhead, wand & hose supplied though. The color may not match, but at least they include a premium powerbrush like the Wessel-Werk, & don't cheap out like Thermax has done by using the Hoover knockoff, the Centec CT110.
