I really like George. Probably the best spray/extraction machine made. Far superior to anything Vax have made. Great for washing carpets and wet pick up. However, they're VERY awkward to use as a dry vacuum and not easy to store. Very cumbersome to use as a dry vacuum and the suction is so strong, it's often quite difficult to use on carpet.

Well don't forget there is a suction air outlet valve at the top of the handle. With that open you get a better usage/easier to push hose and floor head. Also whilst George can use Henry dust bags, you can also buy 15 litre dust bags for George, thus cutting your cost in two if you just use that kind of bag alone. Also the 32mm sizing makes it easy to swap floor heads around, especially old Vax or Hoover floor heads that might be lighter to push anyway.

As a fan of the wet and dry model, Charles, I once managed to get through one bag in a holiday family home for 8 months before the bag needed changing and it was like a brick that required two hands to pull the bag out. Frankly I don't think any tub on the market is space efficient as yet, even James with the smaller length hose is a touch bulky.

Can echo all the comments above and:

I hate spray extraction tubs, don't like the way they shampoo. George's flaws are (imo)

The large fishtail head doesn't pull a lot of water out of the carpet. It just doesn't seal itself down as well. Found myself going over with the small shampoo tool, then in the end using that.

The brass sprayer on the large fishtail corroded easily

One bit of grit into the sprayer and you have to strip it down to clean as it screws up the spray patterns

I find it tricky to plug the wash hose into the pump. Found it easier to leave the connector in and push the hose onto that

But then I find that with all spray extractors that I've used, guess I'm an old Vax/Aquamaster kind of guy!

Brilliant wet suction machines though. Mines pulled all sorts out of car carpets! Looks a bit grubby now though
