The Electrolux Boss was out in 2001 but under different guises with the "Minimite" model -this is really where the model numbers help rather than the name as they are tons of different "boss" models. Later in 2003, the first wave of Electrolux Boss successor models came out, the B3105, B3115 in yellow and blue.

Also see previous thread on here regarding these mini 2litre/2.5 litre dust bag fitted models http://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?18538

Yours truly owned an Electrolux Boss B4111 in 2003. A brilliant cylinder vacuum cleaner and very much made in the same kind of layout as the Hoover Telios, another favourite cylinder vac of mine.

I used to own...

An Electrolux Minimite Superlite, we bought it new in 2001 for our caravan. After our last caravaning holiday in 2003 I took it out & kept it. Namely that was my first ever vacuum cleaner I owned, that's why the Electrolux name has a place in my heart. Can't remember what happened to it.

Talking of the Electrolux Bosses, my nan gave me her Photo Blue Boss Filtaire in 2008 & I only used it a handful of times, perhaps the best Electrolux I've ever used. Great brush roll, great tools, great suction.

These are my 2 fav Electroluxes, shamefully when we had our original Minimite Superlite bags were so difficult to source we ended up buying some from Wilkos & cutting them to fit.

The one you've sent a link there to the vacuum dust bags, VR is the one I knocked back for a Hoover Microspace. I loved that little Microspace - a U.S model I believe originally. Had it for a few years before selling it to a lady who needed it for her caravan. Also had an Electrolux 965 Minilite as Hi-Lo says.

Didn't ever like the main floor head that came with it though.

Before this cleaner, there were three black cylinder cleaners. All had a round press button in the middle and on the top of the range machine the button was also a dial for variable motor speed. The user would need to fold down the carry handle to one side then press down onto it to activate the automatic cordwinder.

Yep I remember that one well - it had a pesky filtration door that could fly off if it didn't lock down properly and a light grey variable suction control dial. Designed to mimic the wonderful and larger Mondo E and its upgraded variants with the slider suction control.

Talking of Mondo's...

Nan gave me her Electrolux Mondo Plus Cylinder in about 2005, she didn't like cylinders so I don't know why she bought it, but anyway she gave it to me & I loved it, despite the lack of Suction Power, should have been more. I've posted the link below. What was weird though normal Electrolux Mondo Bags didn't fit but the ones that Boss Cylinders used did!

It was my second favourite machine, after the Minimite Superlite. I like the fact that with the Mini you get 4 Proper Sized Extension Tubes, I guessed they wanted to sell the vacuum as one that you use as a second vacuum, ie above floor/stairs. Not for flooring.

That's because the one you show is the Mondo that replaced the excellent series beforehand. Those ones didn't have the tool storage flat on the front, but rather a thick plastic PVC holder that could either hold three or four cleaning tools clipped to the hose. I had a Z2305 "light blue" one as well but god it was awful - the slightest bit of dirt on the "flush" wheels meant they could stick whilst the plastic quality was worlds away from the heavier and more robust Mondo series before it.

Hi-lo - check the previous thread regarding Electrolux Mondo cylinder vacs -

Were did the lasers fit in with other bagged uprights of tha

The Laser's were out about 1990/91 to replace the Commander uprights. The original design consisted of a base model soft bag, soft bag with on board tools, standard hardbag and TOL hadbag with on board tools. These early models needed the hose to be removed from the toolcaddy and plugged into the hose port.

They were on sale as late as 1998, albeit in a very basic form with no tools.

Here is a pic of the first style Laser

There were a million different styles and colour schemes. Later models added a proper built in hose with a suction diverter (similar to a Turbopower TS). There was also a bagless model (pictured below) that worked in a similar way to the Hoover Turbopower and Turbomaster Freedom models

Even though the suction was bad on the Mondo, I still liked it. And in the previous thread (your link) that was the Mondo you reviewed on Ciao!
