Not again, people never learn

Hey guys,remember a month or so ago when I posted that a co-worker gave me her Oreck and told me to do what I want with it? She or her boyfriend had run over some wet dog mess and it was clogged with dog hair all the way up the fill tube. Well, she was off today an I got a call from her. They bought a bagless Windtunnel (the cyclonic one, not the tower filter one) to replace the Oreck with... well, boyfriend ran it over wet stuff AGAIN and she got the bright idea to take it outside and run the water hose through it... all of it including the brushroll cavity and I'm sure water probably got in the motor too.... so she may try to give me that thing to "fix" too, good heavens! Don't people learn anything from their past mistakes? I mean these she's 54 and he's at least 60, you'd think by that time they would learn that regular vacuums aren't water friendly! I guess her excuse is that she is blond, but come on! I mean really! I told her to have the man plug it in and run it while it's still wet, maybe it will shock some sense into him! I'd better go tell her I was kidding before she actually does it!

Well I hope you don't have to fix the vacuum. I hate it when people don't care of their vacuums.

If I were you, I would be asking her why they ran it over wet stuff again THEN hosing it down!!! I have zero tolerance for people doing things like that. That's just ridiculous.

I sent the following e-mail to the Kirby Genius on Ebay...


I was interested in the Kirby you are selling, but you calling it a wet and dry vacuum scared me. NO Kirby (none of them, not since they were first made) sucks up water. If you have tried to vacuum water with it, did you take it to a repair shop and have it fixed before trying to sell it, or did you just call it a wet/dry vac because you don't know what you are talking about? Thanks!

Kirby Sales people....

They did tell consumers that because the motor is seald/seperate, if you did happen to ppick up some water it wouldn't hurt it though it was not reccomended. I had two demonstrations back when and both reps said the same, not that I would try it lol.
