I just received this new in box Royal classic power team tank cleaner yesterday. It was brand new, and sent to me by one of the Tacony dealers. It had been in the stock for 20 years, sitting in its box waiting for someone to love it. I had written an article on royal power tanks for the March issue of the vacuum dealers floor care journal, a monthly magazine sent to every vacuum shop in America. The dealer saw my article and decided to send me his last brand new in the box Royal.

No more electronic controls on this model 4750. It was one of the last royal power tanks to be built. Slide variable speed control, and push/push on off switch.

Anyone who wants to see the Royal, it will be on display during the Vacuum Collectors Convention, June 14 - 16 at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum in St. James, Missouri. The convention has NO FEE for any vacuum collector who wants to join us.

yes. That power nozzle was made for the Royal Co. by Centec. It's a Panasonic designed nozzle, so it is very similar to the one on sears vacuum cleaners.

This Royal Power Tank uses a double fan, double ball bearing, High Efficiency, Lamb Motor. The same one used in Tri-Stars (before Electrolux bought them), Princess III's, Kenmores, etc.

It's very powerful.

Very Cool...

Congratulations!

I also got one of this exact model for $25 with a bad motor.

I further demolished the motor trying to get it out and replaced it with another one.

Was tricky because I failed to carefully document the which wires went where.

Figured it out and viola, a wonderful vacuum.

Powerful, clean, all original attachments/PN and an extra long hose. I do no move the switch to max...not necessary. Now one of my favorites.

Somewhere in my collection have one of those Red Royals-Like these machines-too bad they still aren't being built-one of the best canisters out there-long live the Royal Torpedo vacuum!Remember when I unpacked mine-bought from Manassas vacuums. They were a Royal dealer.

What I would like is

and I notice the new one has, the original halo "bumper".

I now have 3 Royals, the burgundy, light blue Power Tank and the dark blue version.

The last one is without the PN, but I procured a black FQ (same design)that will be modified to work. I also have some front parts of the handle that came broken away. Still works find, just a cosmetic issue. I will eventually find a replacement.

Power Tank

We have a blue one, model 408 Power Tank. Didn't have the power nozzle with it when my son bought it, so I picked this one up later. It may or may not be the right one, but it works great. And apparently the cord was replaced before we got it, I'm pretty sure it should be blue. Definitely a great, powerful machine. And congrats to Tom in getting one NIB!

I just replaced the pigtail on my 4650 with a close enough one to get my 4650 running again. I love that thing, awesome suction and really brings up the nap on the carpet. I think it has a similar motor and the same power head. I also have a blue 413 power tank and just got a free 5700 upright that works fine. I have to say that I think the canister is about equal to the upright and does as good or better at grooming the carpet. Upright is nice because it's self contained and simple yet very powerful but the canister is right there and doesn't get messed up with something getting wound into the brush or impeller. I'm not a huge collector but I like high quality well built machines and these things got me since I got my 413 about 90 and realized what a great vacuum it was so I kept fixing it and kept my eyes open for newer better versions. I joined here when I found my 4650 dirt cheap and had to find a good powered hose.
I think I've only seen one 4700 since I started watching Craigslist here about 12.

Since my last post 3/24/18

I bought the correct PN and wand with cord. It was even the right color blue.

All I need is a replacement left side of the handle and it is restored.

I will save the FQ PN for later.
