Hi Everyone!

I'm now the proud owner of a NIB Eureka 3334A Canister. I'll never forget as a kid wanting my parents to get such a canister in the early to mid 1980s. The day our Hoover Convertible died I remember going to the K-Mart in Lapeer, MI and seeing a brown similar canister model. Lo and behold, though, my mom had forgotten the Visa card, so we trekked back home. We ended up going to a different department store, 3-D, which didn't have such a canister and ended up with a Eureka upright with white back with thin blue horizontal and vertical lines on it. So, this was a true find for me!

I do have a question though. Are there any current cloth-type HEPA bags on the market that would fit this particular canister, or could easily fit it? Back in the 80s of course, we rarely heard of indoor air quality issues when vacuuming, and back then it did seem like the genuine paper bags may have been made better than some on the market today. Any help would be appreciated, as well as any issues to replace the thin Eureka disc filters with something more allergy-friendly as well.

Thank you! I will post pictures upon arrival!

Eureka, etc. Tim;

Greetings from a bit south of Lapeer.
I grew up with Eureka as well. First a 1959 Mobile Air Vibra-Beat, then a gold model 1620 canister. My mom was not a fan of an upright for some reason. She had grown up with an Electrolux XXX or model 30.

Do you mean .....

This cute gem?

Just a word of advice. This is a collectible item. If you leave it in the box or never use it and handle it with white gloves, it will continue to increase in value.

If you use it...... it will be just like all the other $20 Eurekas like this. And there are several like this one, currently on Ebay. I think there is even a mid 70s orange model, like this one, with a pn.

I bid $94 for this NIB item, but decided to let it go because I have 4 other vacuums I'm working on getting at the moment. It didn't matter anyway as there were a few others, including yourself, ahead of me to buy it.

I highly suggest you reconsider dirtying this one up. I myself would consider buying it from you, at a profit to you, of course. But not if it's been used.

Here's a link to a similar used one.
