New *Quiet* Upright

I'm looking for a new smallish upright that has a more quiet operation. I like the styling of the Sebo Felix. Does anyone have any experience with these they'd like to share? It looks like it would easily topple over!

Any other suggestions? Tired of loud machines.

I've tried all most all of the Uprights from sears. None of them are *quiet*. But I think the best are the Electroluxs. The most quiet vacuums ever are central vacs, and they clean great!

I also recomend Electroluxes

I would also recomend Electrolux because they are quiet but a little bulky.

SEBO Felix

I want one too! They're so damn cool looking! And so damn expensive...

At the hotel I work for, we use Windsor Flexamatics. They are identical to the SEBO Felix, only a different brand.

They are quieter than most vacuum cleaners. Which is important in a place like a hotel. You don't want it to sound like a construction site in the next room! They have two motors, one for suction, and one for the power nozzle. The body of the machine disconnects to be used as a canister too. They're fairly durable. The only problem with the Flexamatics in a commerical environment is that they get banged around alot. Knocked over and hit on corners while carrying. As a result, alot of the upright locks get broken and they won't stand up very well. Kind of expensive to replace those parts.

I don't think that in a typical home environment that the SEBO Felix would have that problem.

I'm gonna save my pennies and dimes till I can afford a Felix for myself!

Emer

I was looking for the same thing about a month ago. I finally decided on the Emer Donatello with the power nozzle. It is really a cool, powerful vacuum. The power nozzle is easily removed and a floor brush or hose can go in its place. I have been very happy with mine. Do a search for Emer vacuums on Google to see what you find.

hello, the quietest upright cleaners are in my opinio the sebo automatic x range!I have a couple of them , outomatic x 2 and3 and I love them!

You wont be dissapointed.

They certainly are among the most quiet if not the quietest uprights on the market. I certainly have come to love mine for this fact.

There certainly wont be any complaints from my neighbours for quick morning vaccing before I shoot to work.

They clean superbly and groom the carpet very well with their no nonsense brushrolls.
They clean other non carpeted surfaces expertly and do away with me having to get a cylinder or broom out.

It will be interesting over the next few weeks when I clean out the car with it. Should make a change from the sunday morning Dyson screamers I usually get to listen to.
Perhaps I will be able to Demo it it the street to my neighbours LOL.

ALl so well designed with tools that are really to hand

Link to a video which shows total ease of use.
No other cleaner IMHO compares to the ease of use these machines simply give.

Id like to know of any other NEW upright cleaner that could get RIGHT under a 25cm high coffee table without resorting to using unconvienient tools which defeats the whole point of having an upright cleaner with beater bar in the first place.

A vote for the Felix here...

I've had one for about a year. Great machine. Quiet, easy to handle, great performance. Actually much more stable than you might think. I recommend it highly, especially if you're looking for a quiet machine.

Thanks for all the advice. I think i'll steer clear of the Miele s7 since I've heard of the hose issue, at least until they get that sorted out.

I've heard electroluxes can get bogged down on thick carpet (which I have). Anyone know if this is true?
