I’m no longer looking for any more vacuum cleaners. I went through a lot of tears and heartbreak when I recently had to deeply reduce my collection.
However, they still seem to be finding me. Some have been offered to me that I had to decline because either I already had one and had given it away, or that wasn’t in good condition, or that wasn’t something I was interested in.
Three recent adoptions at Casa Electrolux have all been exceptions to the rule.
First, a beautiful first-version Electrolux Model LX. I had one, as well as the last version, the Model LXI. I really wasn’t looking for another one, but one was looking for me! It’s beautiful and runs magnificently. So I’m happy to have it.
Second, a tan Electrolux Model G. That was the second vacuum cleaner my Mom had, having gotten it in 1968 when I was 12 years old and still had while I was in college. I had a beautiful one that, again, I recently gave away. Well, an equally beautiful specimen found me! Again, I’m happy to have one again.
Third, and maybe the most unexpected, a Hoover Constellation Model 843, the model that tilts on its axis. This has always been my favorite Hoover canister machine but I never had a nice one.
Well…….
Two photos are worth two thousand words!!
