New Oreck Bagless

Jamie - it is hard to deviate from one original model unless you're a big corporation who doesn't worry about making a loss. I know what you are saying, but when you're an appliance brand, it is hard to just keep producing the same formula and wrapping it up in a new body time after time. Effectively this is what SEBO did with their X1 Automatic, morphing it into their X1.1 and X4 with a few updates here and there - but like Numatic, SEBO also produce other machines to widen their appeal to customers.

To be fair, Oreck in the UK at least have stuck to their guns in making bagged vacuums with the only exception being the odd Chinese cordless dust buster or that awful cordless Elecktricbroom/Starlyf cyclonic vac they had in the UK for a short while. Im not a fan of Oreck but I do like some of their design ideas - their brush rolls are second to none and they lack beater bars.

The new Touch upright has me interested though - it could well be a return to Oreck in the future.

Normally, I don't like change and most of the vacuums that I love are old styled. But I have to say that I DO like this new Oreck. It looks VERY stylish, sleek and just kinda fun. I'm sure that my Kirbys will out clean it, but I just looks fun. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to find one in a pawn shop or thrift store one day, unless someone wants to buy one for me (hint, hint). No? Oh, well. It never hurts to ask.
