So, are the terms "saran" and "vinyl" used interchangeably?
Regarding when the woven vinyl hoses were discontinued, it seems to me it would have been when the Model 1521s were discontinued in 1994. Their white hose with blue chevron tracers appears to have been used for the mid to late Model 1521s: Grand Marquise, Legacy, Ultralux, Ultralux Classic, and Ultralux LX; along with the Ambassadors/Model 1676s (not the later Ambassador IIIs/C101s), Model 1515 (Regency Series 1500), the Model 2100s (not the ones that were named 2100 as part of the Model C141s), the Diplomat LX/Model 1677, the Model 1623s (typically sold via media sources), the Model 1625s (Advantage Series), and possibly the first Epics (Models 1718 and 1762). In fact, as I look at all the model ids, an easy way to tell which models originally would have had the plastic coiled hoses would be to check the model id. The new pattern of designating models, with a "C", three digits, and a letter, were introduced with the Renaissance (C104A); so it is likely that all canisters from that time have had the new-style hoses.
Now, does anyone know if said hoses have been made in different colors, or if just the couplings and handles have matched the canisters' bodies?
Also, have the uprights always had white plastic coiled hoses? I'm taking for granted that they are a different type of plastic, because they are non-electric hoses.
