My dad bought a new Hoover Wind Tunnel MAX (Bagged) it has mysterisouly quit running. I don't know why, I tried everything, unplugging it, flipping switches incase the socket was turn off, nothing. Nada. The bag is less than half full, it's not equipped with an overheating light like our old vacuum was. I'm fed up with it, it's been off for an hour and I have a house to clean. Does anyone have a suggestion for this thing?

See the bottom of this thread for more info:

Thanks for bearing with me and my rant.

take it back ASAP...

If it's new it can go back no problem as all the big box stores do no hassle returns now. if you lost the receipt but paid with a credit card just go to the customer service area & they can sort it out by swiping the card & finding the sales record. There is another thread here (see link below) where i & others have posted an awesome deal on a new Hoover CH50020 ($139 delivered) that will run circles around this Hoover as far as longevity of use goes. If you need above floor cleaning get the Panasonic commercial at Walmart for $180.
Also Ebay is full of deals on Kenmore uprights & cannisters right now with free delivery (seller: 4 to 1 sales out of Ketucky), these vacs are store return items. Consumers Reports rates these models highly.
This option lessens your ability to return the item (90 days probably) but can be an amazingly low cost way to go.

btw..

i assume up didn't pick up a sock or something & have checked that the outlet you are plugged into isn't worn out. The outlets wear & some plugs are somewhat smaller than others & will not get steady contact where other plugs will.

The Hoover WindTunnel Max/Hoover WindTunnel T-Series are TTI designed machines. The Hoover WindTunnel Anniversary Edition/Hoover Tempo are Hoover designed machines. The Hoover designed machines are much better than the TTI designed machines.

Take it your local authorized warranty service center. Perhaps an on/off switch went bad, strange cause its a new machine but anything electrical can get an issue.
