New Hometek Cyclonic Upright HT681

Hometek, the brand that brought you the original steam mop - they've got a new cyclonic upright on the market, though Im pretty sure it could be a Shark... 1200 watt so not overly high powered and cue the orange and silver decor! There's a brush roll and a swivel neck - not sure if it is worth £199 though.

Close up it looks like it has multicyclonic shroud and a strangely copied Dyson 3 in 1 tool clipped to the top of the handle/Vax crevice 3 in 1 from the Mach Air.

A quick google shows a vac named "AS25" for sale and it's identical.

Our local independent retailers has it as the AS25 retailing at £129.99. I did think it was Dyson-esk with elements of Vax. It does feature a multi cyclonic shroud and the brush roll looks pretty decent although I can not comment on how firm the bristles are.

We have that here as the Dirt Devil Swerve. They sell for $99 but I've seen them on sale for $79. I've almost bought one several times but opted not to.

Its on Manchester Vacs, its the UK version of the Hoover 5110, its similar to a Dyson ibn terms of Swivelling neck similar to a Dyson ball, Motorised brushbar similar to a Dyson ball + motorhead
Lifetime washable filters similar to a Dyson
Bagless similar to a Dyson
Stretch hose, similar to a Dyson
Filters located in the places similar to a Dyson.
This looks like an awesome vacuum, however ManchesterVacs sell it for £128

Lordy, so many different brand names and prices for the same model - that's TTI for you- one can only imagine what it would be like if TTI got their hands on Oreck!

Well don't slate it just yet - this upright looks good value on paper if taking the cheapest price into consideration and it may be better built than others.

To be frank, I don't find Oreck uprights in the UK to be that well made anyway.

Haha I was tempted too for a quick wip round, but I've got two new vacs in two weeks apart so I can't justify the cost, hopefully someone will get one and post some pics and info on here.

Went to Chirk, near Wrexham last Sunday, picked up a Bissell Aroma Pro Carpet Washer for £20, only used twice. Poor woman paid £200 for the thing when new!

Then later on picked up a WORKING Dyson DC04 with all accessories for £1! All it needed was a wash & it's fine. Brushroll works OK.
