New Rainbow just arived

I have used the new Rainbow for several weeks now and I have found some nice features that really help out. The power nozzle rotating side brushes work great on the stair carpeting corners. Used to have the crevice tool for the corners. You can use either a single wnad, both wands or you can attack the hose handle directly to the power nozzle.

New Rainbow just arrived

I really have enjoyed the new longer hose that allows me to clean the stairs from the landing.
Interesting note-this is the FIRST sweeper with a power nozzle that DOES NOT FALL OVER all the time. It will even support the hose. I always hated that with my Electrolux's and Hoover canister. My old SE RAinbow was very bad about that too.

New Rainbow has arrived

It always helps to read the instruction book! I just discovered there is place to store the fuller bush on the cord wrap. It works great for me as I move from carpeting to hardwood floors and then back to area rugs. I never liked that door on my Electrolux Epic 8000 . You had to bend down and open the door, get the tool out, replace the other tool amd then close the door carefully to NOT break the plastic door. It just begs to get broken.
For everyday use I only carry the fuller brush and leave the other tools on the Rainbow door storage rack.

New Rainbow has arrived

Everything has it's "not so good features too". The only thing I can find about the Rainbow is that, like a Kirby,it is heavy. This would not be a good sweeper for an older person. That's where the Orecks win the race, but who can't love those lights!
The new dolly easily goes from my thick carpeting to area rugs to the hardwood floor and then back onto the braided rugs. This is where machines like my Filter Queen and my Hoover Anniversary canister and my old SE Rainbow were a nightmare to use. They caught on EVERY different level of flooring and so did a lot of my uprights like the Dyson that did not have a middle stop position.

How can I buy the new Rainbow & pay less than $2000.00?

Back in 1992 my parents bought the Rainbow SE with all extras for just $1500.00
Power Nozzle
RainbowMate
AquaMate
Deluxe Accessory Pack

from Environmental Concepts in Findlay OH. A yr later that location closed; the Ottawa OH office is still open

Keep an eye

On eBay. Kirbylover dan was selling his recently. It was absolutely spotless and in mint condition. Wish I would have bought it. Starting bid was $999

Find a dealer with good prices. I paid $1,200 for my e2 blue and $1,300 for my black 1 1/2 years ago. So 1,500 in 1992 is not good. They cost half that from the factory which is what I tell my dealer so he knows not to screw me over. We have a great relationship, probably since I'm so direct. Also deal with I distributor who gets it right from the factory as others have said and deal with the owner. A regular employee has to make money and also pay the owner so he'll want to charge more.

But eBay is good also. With ebays buyer protection you can always return if it's not as described. They usually never break so a warranty is kinda useless anyways.

I just bought the new Onyx e3 & love it! Mine has the improved side belt PN & got the RainJet, AquaMate, two RainbowMates (1 for sofa & mattresses only, the 2nd one just for the car) & two RainMates

I got it as a Xmas gift

btw I got rid of the FloorMate & Steam Vac; the Rainbow replaced all that thanks to the AquaMate & RainJet

Less machines=more space; I even got the Rainbow storage rack & 4 qt basin

I use the 4 Quart basin for vacing & floor/carpet washing; & the 2 Qt for air cleaning

The SE & chrome domes will be restricted to spare Rainbow status
