Yea........

But if you buy it from someone off Ebay, you don't have the warranty at all. And if it's brand new on Ebay......Hmmm. That person probably won't give much of a discount anyway.

Rob, about your last two pix.......are you using the squeegee to clean that rug on your porch?

Unless they are a distributor? still against Rexair's policy, but I guess if someone was a distributor they could sell on there and write you out a warranty on their tickets? who knows, I wouldn't buy it still. I did send them a message asking if serial number is intact and what type of warranty but never got a reply

Mark,
I used the stiff brush on the rug to scrub it and then flipped it over and used the squeegee side to draw the cleaner out of the rug. It is some type of plastic fiber rug made to be used outside. It worked great and even took some rust stains out of the rug.
Isn't that strange that Rexair allows them to sell brand new machines just out over 1 month. I think this is the same seller that had a new Rainbow listed about 2 weeks ago. I wonder what you would do if the computer controller or the motor went out in a year or if a part breaks? He sure isn't just "giving" it away.
I would never take a chance on something that expensive or the fact that it is a new model. I might take a chance on a $100.00 purchase but not something that is almost $2000.00 and something I will only buy once.

Rob, I am so glad that you are keeping us updated on your new Rainbow!!!  It seems that you are using the machine everyday and finding new uses as well.  I too wondered about the new one on Ebay.  Does anyone know what a brand new Rainbow from a dealer is selling for?  Also I wonder how the sales for the new machine are going.

Shady

Yea.....Aaron...........1899.99........You get EVERYTHING I noticed. Aquamate, Rainjet. etc, for the price of what the main machine sells for without the extras, but yet you send the seller a question and get no response. Frankly, I'm not surprised that he didn't respond to you. By the questions you asked, he probably sensed you knew a little more about Rainbow than he felt comfortable with.

He's probably looking to sell to someone with a complete lack of knowledge. If you look at the listing, there is no mention of warranty at all.

I guess someone could take a "chance" and buy it for that price to save some money....

I guess the Rainbow's are selling well. Rob was telling me that a friend of his was going to buy a "BLUE" Rainbow hopefully to get a better price, sine the new ones are out, but that they were sold out of the "Blue" ones already....They still have yet to update their website

Yea, I sent the same questions again, yesterday, and now the auction is within two hours of ending, and he or she has still not replied, defiantly would not buy. Anyone wanna buy me a new one? ;)

That is not that wonderful of a price. I do not understand when the Rexair web site clearly states that they will NOT stand behind sales on the internet. What happens if the seller tells you he will stand behind the sale and 5 years down the road you have a serious problem? I guess I could see it,if it was 1/2 price but they are asking almost full price.
If it were ok, why would not more registered distributors be selling on Ebay as you would not have to maintain a store, service center or any overhead.
I can see after a period of time vac shops would acquire trade-ins and they could be rebuilt and resold on a as-is basis with some tyoe of warranty from the seller.

Any of the DTD vacuum companies prohibit sales over the internet-its only face to face sales in the home with the customers signature-and closed sales then the warrantee on the machine is activated and effective.thats any of them-Kirby,filter Queen,Rainbow,TriStar,Vortech Force,Miracle Mate.,Areus Lux.

New Rainbow just arived

I have used the new Rainbow for several weeks now and I have found some nice features that really help out. The power nozzle rotating side brushes work great on the stair carpeting corners. Used to have the crevice tool for the corners. You can use either a single wnad, both wands or you can attack the hose handle directly to the power nozzle.

I really have enjoyed the new longer hose that allows me to clean the stairs from the landing.
Interesting note-this is the FIRST sweeper with a power nozzle that DOES NOT FALL OVER all the time. It will even support the hose. I always hated that with my Electrolux's and Hoover canister. My old SE RAinbow was very bad about that too.

New Rainbow has arrived

It always helps to read the instruction book! I just discovered there is place to store the fuller bush on the cord wrap. It works great for me as I move from carpeting to hardwood floors and then back to area rugs. I never liked that door on my Electrolux Epic 8000 . You had to bend down and open the door, get the tool out, replace the other tool amd then close the door carefully to NOT break the plastic door. It just begs to get broken.
For everyday use I only carry the fuller brush and leave the other tools on the Rainbow door storage rack.

Everything has it's "not so good features too". The only thing I can find about the Rainbow is that, like a Kirby,it is heavy. This would not be a good sweeper for an older person. That's where the Orecks win the race, but who can't love those lights!
The new dolly easily goes from my thick carpeting to area rugs to the hardwood floor and then back onto the braided rugs. This is where machines like my Filter Queen and my Hoover Anniversary canister and my old SE Rainbow were a nightmare to use. They caught on EVERY different level of flooring and so did a lot of my uprights like the Dyson that did not have a middle stop position.

How can I buy the new Rainbow & pay less than $2000.00?

Back in 1992 my parents bought the Rainbow SE with all extras for just $1500.00
Power Nozzle
RainbowMate
AquaMate
Deluxe Accessory Pack

from Environmental Concepts in Findlay OH. A yr later that location closed; the Ottawa OH office is still open

Keep an eye

On eBay. Kirbylover dan was selling his recently. It was absolutely spotless and in mint condition. Wish I would have bought it. Starting bid was $999

Find a dealer with good prices. I paid $1,200 for my e2 blue and $1,300 for my black 1 1/2 years ago. So 1,500 in 1992 is not good. They cost half that from the factory which is what I tell my dealer so he knows not to screw me over. We have a great relationship, probably since I'm so direct. Also deal with I distributor who gets it right from the factory as others have said and deal with the owner. A regular employee has to make money and also pay the owner so he'll want to charge more.

But eBay is good also. With ebays buyer protection you can always return if it's not as described. They usually never break so a warranty is kinda useless anyways.
