Haha not at all. I never take offence on here. It's just a discussion about vacuum cleaners not world politics :-)

There we go, another fan of the Vax Cordless Air.

It really is a terrific design, Marcus. Okay so suction through the hose isn't that good but if its a cordless carpet upright you're looking for, it will suffice. So simple to direct, steer and picks up well due to its triple windtunnel ducts.

I do notice that the Athlet has dropped in price to £199 at most online sites, but then the Vax Cordless Air is also going for £199 at Argos.

Love my Hoover Air Cordless. I had just run the KirBeast G2000 before the Hoover arrived and the Air Cordless picked up a ton more dirt. I was so shocked I took a pic of the bin.

Seems to be quite a few people on here impressed with the Hoover/Vax Cordless. If it had a HEPA filter I think I'd be tempted to get one.

But you say that you were looking to buy for your grandma. Based on the fact that these cordless vacs are hardly going to put out much "dirty air", there's not much point in offering HEPA in my experience. Granted the MR SuperVac I have has one as standard, but its not as if it is really benefitting many - I think it was just put there to increase sales.

I mean, seriously. For a conventional dust buster wiith a far smaller dust capacity and a lower force of suction, a HEPA filter isn't really going to save anyone from allergies in a bag-less design.
