Good find

That bag is incorrect for the Omega. It is an f&g bag/connector....it was an 'upgrade ' from the shake out bag that the aftermarket provide... To be able to use disposable paper bags. Love that Legend 2
 
The one at left is a Classic Omega 1CB, produced from 1973 to 1976. Depending on the serial number, the original shake out bag could be the old-style KGF-40 gold (but with the Classic Omega patch), pinstripes (most 1973-74 production) or diamondback vinyl (1974-76 production). My 1974 Omega has the right pinstriped cloth bag.

And the one at right is a Legend II, produced from 1989 to 1991... the very last Kirby before the Generation 3 showed up (in early 1990).

The bag in Ben's pic you won't find. You will find those f&g conversion bags but I myself have not seen one available or even on a machine for sale in 2 years. I know 2 or 3 people on here have them but it's rare.

The F&G conversion bag kits were not very good in their design. They took either the Eureka F&G type disposable bags or the Royal A type disposable bags. The way the fill tube was designed on these aftermarket kits restricted suction to a big extent, that the speed of the Kirby motor increased significantly.

Les and others have actually tested the airflow to confirm that.....I guess though, that was KIrby owners only option in the days long ago. Good explanation though for those new to the F&G 'options'

Bummer

I found a vacuum that looks like the omega without the omega symbol. Im assuming its just a classic. Im still learning my kirbys. Hopefully I can find one of the bags with the stitched omega symbol on it sometime or another. Im ditching this F&G crap. Looks generic. Ill sacrifice no allergies for a big bloated original shake out any day, LOL

I. Converted my classic 3 to the f and g setup and it never worked right after that. The bags would explode and what a mess that was.

There is a 25-40% strain on motor with an empty bag. Your better using shakeout bag f and g hurts the motor and basically ruins vacuum real quick. Yo would be better putting a Kirby sentria 2 HEPA bag on exhaust it has no restrain on motor. Shakeout is far better than f and g. Shakeout bags are huge and minimal strain on motor unless your bag is overflowing. I have ran multiple tests.

This issue with the aftermarket conversion bag kits is only more so for the pre-4-amp Kirbys (models 505 to early 513).

Even the Kirby Tradition's original Style 1 disposable bag system was restrictive, because of its narrow fill tube design.

I tested 512 519 d80 classic and tradition and across the board the amount of back pressure resistance or whatever you want to call it was 25%-40% across the board. I have my own tubes 2.5 in I used a drill bit cut a chunk of rubber emtor cover and put in my fill tube with sentria 2 topper. I put Lexan sealed emtor top and made hole for my tube assembly. I made sure no air was leaking. I have a 2 prong f and g bag a 3 prong f and g and I made my own for circular emtors. I measured shakeout bag f and g bag my bag and no bag. No bag my bag and shakeout offered no resistance.the Fuller the bag f shakeout caused some resistance. My setup caused no resistance and f and g started at 25% and more in the bag the worse the resistance.
So f and g from 505 to tradition was very similar on every test.
That's why I say use shakeout it won't ruin Motor like f and g. I think shakeout got to maybe 10% resistance and by that time your bag is ready to be shaken out.
F&g is basically going to burn up your motor. I don't know who came up with it but just use shakeout. The shakeout will not ruin motor. It will actually if emptied about half full will be pretty close to having bag setup I have made.
I did the test that's how I know all the percentages. I thought shakeout would be bad but it's actually really good. I knew my bag setup would be great but very surprising how f and g are bad.

So where is the serial number at if the label is damaged that is under the machine? Or are you just screwed if the label is damaged, lol!!!???
